really pleased all is straight forward. Good luck with the sample. it took me a whole day of following Fudge round when she was a puppy. Everytime I moved in with the dish she stopped and thought it was a game.....I eventually caught some outside of the vets and carried it in with me.....

Our cat gets bouts of cystitus. Sometimes difficult to clear up. With the cat its too much dried food that sparks it off.

Regarding the sample, you have to follow the pup around, just walk around behind him, when you think he might wee and with beaker in hand plunge it in from the side.

You will get pee'd on but its not too bad. Dogs are tricky, bitches are much easier.

Been there, seen it done it...wear gloves!!!! And short sleeves!!!!!!!

Try collecting it in a very clean old marg tub or similar....thoroughly clean it though...boiling water, the works!!!!!

You have 2 advantages...surprise and him being young...

Yes, tell your Mum there's loads of us oldies on here, I'm another one of them and I've got 2 gsd's!!! We're not scarey either, very friendly and all very helpful!

Sorry, just caught this thread, I was so worried when I read about the blood but very relieved to hear it is something less sinister than first thought, PHEW! Hugs and kisses for a speedy recovery.

BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! just come back from the vets where i gave a pee sample in from puppy and by the time i'd got home they'd rang to say not to worry they've checked his urine and he has cysitis nothing a course of antibiotics shouldn't sort out have been very worried about my boy so thanks for all the replies i'm so glad i joined the forum now does anyone know what causes cystitis? have read somewhere that it can be caused by to much dried food? is this true? thanks again everyone
