Quite a scary moment for me Mandy, I'd begun to think I was going to spend the next few years with her on a long line, but there is Hope - I hope

I'll believe it when we've had several weeks of it, and I can walk her with Mabs without worrying about whats coming over the horizon. At the moment I'm walking Lona and Mabs on the country park a couple of days a week because its so relaxing and not torture

Property boundaries are clearly defined on the deeds and who is responsible for what, however there is no rules or guidelines on what actually is shown on the property. A couple of posts or even a white line is all that is needed as the minimum requirements. On the other hand a max of 6 ft is the highest one can go without planning consent.
When Sue and I previously bought a new house it was one of the conditions of purchase that the boundary fence should only be 4 ft high.
We informed the building firm that our dogs could easily jump that and therefore the building company would be liable for any damage to neighbours property.

They quickly reconsidered and granted us to go up as high as necessary to prevent it happening, so up went a 6 ft fence.
This then caused a president and other people on the housing site did the same.

neighbour disputes now have to be included in the survey/search of a property and failure to declare is now an offence.

You can choose friends but not neighbours, where we have moved to we are lucky they are all nice

Luckily my family have lived in my home for several generations so have never been troubled with searches and/or surveys. As for neighbours, we have some, you can see them with a good telescope. They seem OK, well they pay their rents on time, for you see Tweed you can choose your neighbours if they are your tenants.
