I'm guessing that his reaction was just cause he was sick of this dog going for him, so I don't blame him.

As for the owner, well she has been warned what would happen if the dog was off lead, she has nobody to blame but herself.

Hugs from Dougal and I.

It would be just awful if this turned him fear aggressive, so I think it would be great to be proactive and ensure he gets to meet some friendly strange dogs to nip it in the bud. Good luck

Maybe I'm totally in the wrong here but I refused, I didn't want our walks planned around what she wants to do, I said that, so long as the dog was kept on a lead at all times I wanted us both to be free to go where we wanted and when we wanted, I sometimes have to alter my walk times depending on deliveries etc or if Clive needs me to be at home a certain time.

I was thinking more along the lines of SHE ought to ring you, just to warn you that she's off out with the dog, and that way, at least you would be forewarned, and it's then up to you whether you take the risk or not, and she should do that EVERY time she is going out the door imo!?

There's a little black rat that lives up the back of me, and this dog has taken the trouble to race halfway across our village green to launch an attack at Zena, once right at her mouth to get the ball out of it!!!! This started when she was only about 4 months old and the last attack was when she was about a year old, so we avoid it like the plague now. However, she has to walk past my driveway gates twice a day, and guaranteed, I've just let the dogs out there for a wee, when she's going past and it yaps and yaps and yaps, sets Zena off, although I've now trained her to "leave it", stop barking back at it, and come indoors, coz she used to go ballistic tail in the air, zooming up and down the gates and if she was let out there, she would definitely kill it now I know that!!! Considering this woman has admitted it was HER dog that doesn't like Zena and instigated all 3 attacks, I wish she would ring me if she's taking it out, because if I decided to do a lead walk and stepped outside my gates and it was there, I think I'd have problems! Even though Zena is willing to ignore any other yapping, barking, growling dog we come across, this one is different, she'd want to get at it! Hopefully she won't lol!

Thank you for all your support and lovely wishes

Henry seems ok, he met up with the irish setters today and was fine with them, we just bumped into the giant schnauzer puppy, (8 months old and nearly twice the size of Hen ), they had a kiss and a cuddle so no nasty knee jerk reactions from Hen there, thank goodness.

I get what you're saying H..and yes, it should be her that checks it's ok with me, after all, she is the one with the dangerous dog. Poor Zena, all she wants out of life is her family and her toys, she is another one that doesn't deserve to keep getting picked on xx

There's no way I'd be phoning round the owners of the dogs Rupe's had a go at to check it's okay to walk him, I'd be on the phone all day! Rupert's leashed, I actively avoid getting near other dogs and where that isn't possible he's muzzled, doesn't stop him lunging and kicking off but as far as I'm concerned that's precaution enough without me having to try to schedule walks around other peole. And yes, we're working on the issue but getting absolutely nowhere.

I feel for you and Henry, this is the sort of thing I went through with Rupert almost every walk and is why he is the way he is now. I find it absolutely ridiculous that there is so little done about dog on dog attacks. I don't care whether most of them are noise and slobber, it still has a detrimental effect on the dog being attacked. You're lucky having someone who actually cares and is willing to do something, the police didn't give a damn when I reported dogs that attacked mine. Even after the two we had real problems with almost killed another dog they didn't want to know. I hope you and Henry are okay and that Henry remains his sweet self.

Oh Sheree I am so sorry to hear poor Henry has had to cope with this again and you have had to go through the trauma of it again.
Something really needs to be done in law about these dog on dog attacks. I know our police here wouldn't do a thing and just tell you they don't deal with it contact the dog warden, and they are worse than useless and almost impossible to get hold of. I am just pleased at least your police will act.
I hope Henry is ok today, I just get so mad that in the eye of the law its ok for a dog to go round attacking other dogs, traumatising the victims and owners of the victims but yet they are not allowed to attack a person. Its all as traumatic and bad whichever they attack.

Er no they are not, it is just that people do not pursue the matter.

Thanks Sarah He seems ok, I'm just more and more apprehensive when we go out, I didn't even have a chance to get my lemon squeezy out of my pocket and squirt at the westie as he caught us from behind Clive said it's a good job he wasn't with us as the westie would be history...I don't like dogs being hurt but I'm afraid I have no sympathy for this nasty thing, I know it's his owners fault really though.

Thanks Bev...I was so lucky to find the right person when Hen was attacked the first time, through Clive's contacts with the police my complaint was directed to Chrissie who acted immediately. I do think it helps if you are the type of person that pursues it until you get the right result, but I do understand that not all police forces are as approachable as they seem to be here xx

Unbelievable!!!!

I really dont understand some people!!!!

Do they not care they are putting not only your dog, but their own dog at risk. Makes me so angry!!!! It seems to be a modern day thing now, there seems to be more dog attacks than ever......

Come and live near me in South Lincs, we are a nice bunch.

Gentle hugs to Henry from me and mine
