Well done Helena. Not a bit surprised.

Just popped out for boxes from the local shop and some more packing tape as the removal firm we chose is very busy and couldn't drop boxes off till later. We only decided today. As I pull up there's the guy with our boxes 3 rolls of packing tape and the biggest roll of bubble wrap you can imagine.
One firm wanted 20p deposit a box and you to drop them off at some point after moving which if you weren't coming back this way was pretty unreasonable.
This firm although slightly dearer they are all in the price and if we do come back and feel like dropping any back to them he will be more than happy but if were not he's happy.
When I get 5 mins I have to take Dillon to say goodby to the two little girls who live a couple of doors away. I have been very touched by the comments from our neighbours about how they will miss us and what nice people we have been as neighbours.

Good news from the vet Jenny.

Beautifully sunny here now ... better late than never eh The dogs have just been fed and have promised me they'll lie quietly in the sun on the doorstep .... so far so good as I can see them from where I'm typing. I thought a bit of sun would do them good.

Lacey - I'm amazed you hadn't heard about Rucksack being attacked as I've referred to it many times, I'm sure other people must be sick to death of hearing about it He was attacked while on a lead by a JRT who came out of the blue and just latched on to his face and then ear while the poor lad wasn't even looking in his direction. He was only 10 months and was terrified and screaming. The owners appeared and were useless. In an attempt to get the dog to release Rucksack I was also bitten. To cut a long story short, I hit the dog on the nose with the flexi lead handle numerous times and when that didn't work, a chap on a bike stopped and belted this dog with his bicyle pump by which time there was a huge crowd. Poor Rucksack has never been the same since having been such a confident well socialised dog. He is fine with dogs once he realised he won't be attacked but initially if a dog comes within 10 feet of him he'll bark, snap etc etc. basically telling them to keep their distance. Such a shame but he is so much better than he was. I hope you have a nice tea tonight. I use to buy the M&S Tuna Fishcakes ... they were yummy.
Helena - Well done what a fantastic well deserved result scoring 5 out of 5 . Is that just the big van or little one as well? Great news too that the young couple are moving in to the smaller van .... money in and no change overs, how lovely will that be for you.
Moyra - I do remember now 'cos the last job he did he was lifting loads of slabs and hurt it again after if had improved initially Its so important he gets it sorted being young still .... and we all know what a pain it is having back-ache ... it effects you whole body
Lynn - Two more sleeps and then the start of a new era for you and Gorden. I'm sure it will be so emotional leaving but once you arrive at your new place I'm sure you'll be too busy to miss your friends and hopefully walking the delectable Dillon you'll meet new friends before you know it.
I'm delighted that Rucksack won't be having the snip now and I just needed someone to advise me what to do. I do hope Dillon's tum has sorted itself out
June - Wow what a difference in Mab's shape ... but there would be wouldn't there. We ought to have all have a guess as to how many pups she'll have. I think it'll be 6. How do you decide what to call them, or what do you base their names on when they arrive? It is all so exciting and they'll be due only a few days or so before my burfday Make sure you have your camera at the ready so that we can have the daily puppy photos .... and Mabs too.

See you later.

Jenny, Steve is not that young he had his 50th birthday in May and couldn't enjoy it because he was so crippled up with his back, that was the start of it all. I never knew about Rucksacks attack, bless his little heart you can understand his nervousness.

Lynn, do hope everything goes smoothly from now on. God bless.

TW, lovely photos of Mabs, certainly showing now.

Jenny, I've got a list of names already. Boys are going to be Tom Cruise films because Daddy is called Cruz, and Mabs's posh name is Donehogawa Faerie Princess, so the girls will all be Faerie something, like Faerie Queen, Faerieland, etc.
Youngest Son here now for his tea, but busy on his mobile and laptop working.

TW so how did she get the everyday name of Mabs then? Oh I think I have just put two and two together to make her the Queen of the Fairies. Am I right?

wow, Mabs is looking gooooooooood, cant wait for puppy pics....

pressed wrong button, so back on to edit

Well Done Helena but did we expect anything else?? Hope the young couple get settled in and dont cause you any problems, be nice and easy for a few weeks.

YAY way to go Rucksack, keeping your bits, bet he's so happy about that

Poor Lynn, soon be all done and you will be homemaking in your beautiful cottage, and all this upset will hopefully be behind you xx

Painful backs are not easy to deal with, hope your son gets some answers from the consultant soon.

Not got much done, been trawling the internet looking at vans, still no nearer to getting one. I have been up into the loft, I am thinking of setting a CD player up with some soothing music for when I go to bed as I dont sleep well, but the only CD's I can find are rock and Meatloaf so should help then

Moyra that is right. I was looking for a 'faerie' name, and I know of a few dogs called Tatiania, and wanted something different, and then came across Mabs, and it was 'her'

June - please ask HM Mabs to deliver on 11 November because then that will turn it into a nice day for me.

Pereg and I had a couple of nanny naps this afternoon, neither long enough but the first was disturbed by a wrong number telephone call and the second by someone knocking on the door wanting Family So-and-So and I have no idea who Family So-and-So are and then he got stroppy because nobody has numbers outside their houses.

But he did not know what number Family So-and-So lived at and expected me to know.

Pah.

This photo is of fat neck Pereg on the bed which has an empty duvet cover on it, bought in a sale in Fenwicks, Brent Cross about 35 years ago. It was the size for my then double duvet but now too small for my current ones, but is ideal for this weather.

Can you see the little people on it?

Mabs is looking good June and very definitely looking preggers.
Loving the choice of themes for names you are picking.
Probably not a good choice Elaine.
Sorry to hear Steve's back is bad Moyra.

Still at it. I can hear you all saying quietly we told you so
