Griff you need to make sure you add the seeds to their food and not throw them away like most people do

Good afternoon all. My, what a rotten day weatherwise down here. Really wet and dismal. Still fairly mild though. I have wrapped all my presents. Still got couple more bits to get, mainly for my brother. Just wrapped Dad's 'tree' present. Does anyone else do that? I mean a present from the tree??? Where did that come from anyway. It was always left till last in my family usually before us kids went to bed.

Yes Moyra, do you remember the first manned space rockets they didn't have e-mail in those days, in fact I don't think the general public got to see inside the capsule at all, perhaps you know.

Venturing beyond the earths atmosphere is still dangerous. On TV this morning were saying it's getting ready for interplanet exploration. There's a lot of people on this world I would like to see on Mars or Pluto or even further away

I grate up lots of different root vegetables for the girls every day and then steam them, so when I do the squash I get some seeds at first then as I go round the squash I come to a point where I get to the centre and there are lots of seeds, and I just mix them in with their veg, so some days there are hardly any seeds and others there are many. If you don't semi cook veg then the dog won't be able to digest them as they can't break down cellulose, so you do it for them by grating and steaming
Popster, we have always had presents ROUND the tree, but never FROM the tree

My last years as operating as a Radio Ham was a contact with the space flight out of Houston, it was an incredible experience to talk to the flight crew. I have never operated since. Sadly! Still have my ham radio in the cupboard bet the capacitors have gone down and no further use. Lol

The present from the 'tree' has always been a tradition in my family. It was always something small like a bar of chocolate or those tubes of smarties/wine gums. I did find a reference to it on Google and this one stated the gift was given when taking the tree down, the trees way of saying thank you for making it look so beautiful perhaps lol.

I have heard of tree presents never done them but have known people that do.
Bet that was interesting Moyra must admit I missed the take off.

Well not out of the woods yet with Dillon he started nibbling his paw and then round his tail again a little while ago. Gave him a lamb rib earlier and some silica apparently it helps to drain the anal glands then you use hepur sulph to heal. Also warm epsom salts on a pad and gently wipe helps have done that and then a dry one to dry the area.
Not that he has an abscess but his bottom is a little sore from the nibbling.
Would prefer to let them empty on their own if possible once vets and groomers start doing them regularly its a slippery slope.
Today has been a vast improvement on yesterday and through the early hours today. Fingers crossed we are getting there.
I will go though if things don't improve.

I watched the launch this morning. Absolutely fascinating. Hope they cover more of the voyage.

I do hope he is going to be ok Lynn bless him it cannot be comfortable for him. I tried to cut Amber's nails this morning, I clipped two and on the third one she pulled away so I daren't go any further. I did not want to make it an ordeal for her. May have another go in the morning if I can clip a couple a day we might get there quicker if she sees it is more comfortable with them shorter. Trouble is her walks are more on grass than paving so she does not get the road work she needs.
