Thanks for all your well wishes

Keep those dogsey vibes heading our way please....so far so good, stomach stitches looking good at the moment and elizabethan so she can't get at her leg. Seems to be well in her self though which is good.

Will keep you all updated, just need to get to the end of next week with no hiccups.

You lot stopped sending your healing vibes....didn't you

Just ANOTHER update...

She is back having more stitches done now in surgery.

Monday the wound started to swell and again had the clear liquid running from it. (happens everytime) The skin came apart by a couple of mm's. Stitches were still holding though. So, i decided to cold compress it regularly with a hibiscrub mix and as a last resort put alot of sudocream over, never done this before but felt i didn't have nothing to loose. Sudocream normally dries her wonds quite quickly when i use it.

Anyway by tuesday it had calmed down, so i have been repeating this twice a day. There was still a gap in the join of skin but the liquid was less and it did look dryer.

Today the gap has got slightly more wider and the stitches looked like they could rip out at any moment, so i phoned the vet and have just driven upto stroud.

Although they close at 6.30pm he hung on for me.. He looked and said with any other dog he would be tempted to leave it, but as this is jess he thought it might burst.

We debated lots of options, and he said if she was his, he would put some much bigger stitches in again (leaving the others aswell, i think) and fix a drain to the bottom to direct the fluid out.

So he was going to stay behind and do it now, and then leave her there to sleep. I will pick her up tomorrow all being well.

The good news is, that her spaying has gone well, the wound looks brilliant. Just how a normal dogs should look. So that helps by telling us she doesn't have any reaction to the stitching used, or that she has a healing problem generally. So i am glad i had that done. Just this flipping leg we need to get sorted.

So tonight we are without her . I will keep you all updated.

One step forward and 2 back, eh Kirstie?

Poor Jess She must be such a tolerant soul.

Fingers still crossed here for some progress towards getting that wound properly healed up xxx
