I have to keep my leg elevated anyway Lynn - but yes it makes sense - to aid circulation.

You should get lots and lots of info from the DVT clinic but I live my life everyday with a DVT that's still there and it doesn't really bother me! Once they know whether it's either broken down or too old to move you'll be sorted

Oh Lyn, how dreadful for you, but at least it's pretty much sorted now. Big hugs honey - enjoy your New Year!

Hi,
again thanks for the good vibes everybody.
i'v been to the dvt clinic, and they have put my mind and fears at ease.
they say that once treatment has started the risks are now very minimal. the dangers are when people don't know they have them. the nurse who spoke to me said she hasn't lost a patient to dvt in the last 5 years once treatment has started, even then it was an elderly person who had other problems. she said there are alot of people walking round with dvt and don't even know it until they have either a heart attack or a stroke. scaryyyy thought.

There ya go, what did we tell you? It is true though how scary it is that people don't understand the risks from them...... and all the oldies I have who have had them are still here so she's right to reassure you.

Glad your mind has now been put at rest Lynn, so it's a Godsend really that this happened in order for you to know you have them by the sounds of it, that IS scarey if you were unaware!

Thanks for answering my question, and to you too Lottie, that's the same as grapefruit then with my own meds!
