I just wanted to give everyone an update on my dog. I dropped her off at
the vet yesterday for a chest x-ray and an ultrasound. Everything came
back normal!! There were no masses, abcesses, etc. All her organs
are fine. He took blood again to check to see if the white blood cell count
went down, and I should have the results sometime today. I'm still not out
of the woods, but it looks good. She's currently on antibiotics, and if the
white blood cell count is still elevated, my vet said he's going to keep her
on them.

I want to thank everyone for their support and advice. It's nice to know
that people not only care about their own dogs, but they care about other
people's dogs as well.

And special thanks to Jen and Lydia. You guys helped me get through
this.

Thanks Foxy! Lydia is brilliant. She really helped me out a lot and she gave
me more information than my own vet!! Thanks for suggesting that I speak
to her.

Hi Leslie that is good news. It the high white cell count has reduced with antibiotics it sounds like it may have been the result of an infection, so fingers crossed things continue as they are

Thanks Minihaha! I'm going to be calling my vet this afternoon for the
results. I'm praying that the count went down. My dog has Lyme disease
so all of this may be attributed to that. I'm definitely keeping my fingers
crossed!

Thanks Jen! My vet just called and told me that her white blood cell count
went down and her protein level went up which indicates that it probably
was some type of infection and the antibiotics are working. He wants me
to bring her in in about 10 days to have blood drawn again just to double
check everything. I can finally breathe!

So far, this whole thing has cost me about $ 800.00 (I don't know what that
is in euros or pounds). But at least I have piece of mind now.

Thanks again everyone!!

Thanks Jen! The worrying has ended (at least until the next health
crisis ) But I can relax for now. Now I have to figure out what
I'm going to do about her possible hip surgery. This poor dog.

Hugs back to you and the boys.
