Thank you all for your kind wishes, it's so nice to have people to chat to who know how I must be feeling and don't dismiss Lucy as "just a dog".

It's the really silly things you miss like not having a wet nose nudge your elbow just as you're sipping your coffee...!!

Toby does seem a little subdued but we went for a long walk this morning with my parents who were taking their puppy to Bradgate Park for the first time. Toby (and Bobby actually) was playing the part of big brave dog so that the little one wasn't too scared. He did a grand job, bless him.

Fingers crossed, he won't fret too much

gail, what can i say, shes been your companion for 14 years too. my heart goes out to you mate. you know you did the right thing but i know that doesnt make it any less painfull.

So sorry that you lost poor Lucy of course she was not "just a dog", we all understand that.
