Pleased all went well, and I am sure neither you nor Riley will have any regrets about it Now comes the really difficult bit of keeping him quiet for a few days

Well, we took riley for a little walk on the lead this morning and he loved it. He was a bit annoyed at not being able to chase the bunnies though But he seems ok. He's still a little sore i think (he keeps whimpering ) but he's not licking at the stitches or anything.. Im still a little concerned that it doesn't look right though It looks as though 'they' are still there Should it?!!

Yeah don't worry it'll just be the swelling!

Woody looked like he still had something "there" a few months after the op, it will shrink eventually just takes a bit of time!

Oh, thats ok then. I thought maybe the vet forgot what op she was doing and just left them there by accident! I guess it'll make Riley feel like a man for a while still lol! Bless him..

Kingsley was castrated a few years ago, and still has a bit of scrotum. It shrank, but after being there 7 or 8 years, didn't shrink to nothing!

I know someones Lab who's like that, still has how can I say, a small bag for his plums! Must depend on the skill of the surgeon I guess, can't tell unless you flip him over though! Something that is almost impossible as he's the biggest Lab I've ever seen.

I was always led to believe that some vets, when they castrate they don't take the scrotum at all, but some vets take *everything*.
I suppose it's the vets choice - like when they spay - some dogs have a tiny incision, with internal stitches, but some have a larger wound, with external stitches.
