i actually was born and now live back in portsmouth and have had to listen for years for the fiasco building the tower has been. the money could have been spent on lots of other worth while causes like the seriously deprived area that is only a short walk away from it. i still want to go up it though just to see the view.

I think its had as many probs - cracked concrete and paint. I hate it and all the expense spent on it and I won't be going up there!!!!

The local breakfast radio show was presented up there this morning - rather them than me!!

I see the outside lift broke down today - on opening day - 100ft up with the project manager in it!!!!!!!!!!

o/h wants to go up it but i think we will be going up in the internal lift..... if i dont get back down will someone adopt my dog??????

Oh, what is the point of having an internal lift and an external lift?

cause it is dearer to go on the external lift as you can see the views as you are going up or if you are stuck in it!!!!!!!!

There's also 570 approx stairs - but only for emergencies!!

For anyone interested you can arrange to absail or glide from the top for charity!!!!!
