total freak occurence - where I went in Finland and Norway and Sweden it was quite common - we were 5 miles inside of hte arctic circle. I don't remember seeing any - but i was 8 at the time so I may have and not remember.

This is pretty much unheard of here - so IF that's what you saw - WOW!

Ooooh Mini, you lucky devil. We saw the Nothern Lights in Lapland. Blues, greens and pinks. Charlotte said (then aged 5) that they were the childrens letters going to Santa and the diffreent colours were the different coloured paper the letters were written on. Sweet ain't she??

..It was white not coloured and nothing like as dramatic as the picture...
I only saw it because I went down the lane to the post box at that late hour..
..never the less it was still amazing and I rushed around tring to get someone else to look at it but my neighbours were all in bed, so I rang my son to go and look, I think he may have been 'in bed ' too

Wow Mini that is absolutely amazing I sooo wish we could have seen it here. I just love spectacular sights like that! Well done for catching that Mini, and thanks! That would make a nice picture in a frame wouldn't it.
