Laszlo was perfectly fine until the tumour exploded one day. He nearly bled to death internally. A heroic vet removed his spleen, where it was, and gave us another month to look after him. I'm very grateful for that. I'm glad that you know what's going on, sucky though it is. I wish you more good days and happy delicious broth!
It's strange - we dont know where her primary tumour is - as we had xrays done of her chest spine and pelvis to try and find the source of her lameness and there is nothing there - just those leisions. However, it doesnt matter - we know the diagnosis and we know the outcome which gives us a great advantage in dealing with it and she is happy up til now. the chicken broth went down well this morning and she is sleeping it off now.

You're right, Thalice, it doesn't matter. The bloody thing spreads so fast that even if you did know where it was today you might not know next week. You have her with you, you can keep her comfortable and inundate her with love-- that is what matters.

I send you hugs!

Very sadly, Delyth has deteriorated rapidly in the last 24 hours - unable to stand, possibly losing some of her sight, getting confused and uncontrollable shaking. So to prevent her from suffering further she has made her final trip to our wonderful vet. RIP my beautiful little one - how short a time you and I shared. I miss you. XXXX

Maud, I am so so very sorry to read this. Lots of love from me and the girlies on such a very sad day for you xxxxx

Dear Lord, please open your gates
and call St. Francis
to come escort this beloved companion
across the Rainbow Bridge.

Assign her to a place of honor,
for she has been a faithful servant
and has always done her best to please me.

Bless the hands that send her to you,
for they are doing so in love and compassion,
freeing her from pain and suffering.

Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of her life
with the love she has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honor her
by sharing those memories with others.

Let her remember me as well
and let her know that I will always love her.
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise,
please allow her to accompany those
who will bring me home.

Thank you, Lord,
for the gift of her companionship
and for the time we've had together.

And thank you, Lord,
for granting me the strength
to give her to you now.

I am so sorry to hear about your dog I lost my whippet to the same which started as a lump on his back. I thought at first it was due to bumping through the agility tunnel at speed and the vet wasn't too concerned but drew off a sample from it. Came back as ? fibrous tissue She requested a biopsy be done couple weeks later as the lump was growing. After the biopsy the lump grew so quickly I knew before the result was back it was something really serious. I had to say goodbye to my boy 2 weeks later. I really feel for you it is just so hard, enjoy the time you have just now and spoil her.

Maud - I am so very sorry for the loss of your beloved Delyth - please acccept my sincerest condolences.

Run free darling Delyth - run free as fast as you can.xx

G-d, full of love, dwelling in the spirit of all life, may the spirit of
Delyth be accepted into your love. By the merit of his/her love, may his/her spirit live on in the love of all life.

Our G-d and G-d of our ancestors, Creator of the universe which You filled with the wonders of life, You have brought forth diverse living creatures and endowed us with the ability to love them, care for them, and be comforted by them.

I thank you for the life of my pet, a constant and loyal companion who shared my home and my love.

At the same time I grieve the loss of my beloved pet, I give You thanks for the miracle of life and the wonder of the love and companionship we shared.

O Lord our G-d, we come before You this day in sadness.
Delyth, who brought us so much joy in life, has now died. We are grateful to You, G-d, for creating Delyth , for entrusting her to our care, and for sustaining her in our love for a measure of time.

We understand that all that lives must die. We knew that this day would come. And yet, O G-d, we would have wanted one more day of play, one more evening of love with
Delyth.

O G-d, as we have taken care of
Delyth in life, we ask that You watch over her in death.

May we care for all Your creatures, for every living thing, as we protected the blessed life of
Delyth.

May her memory bless our lives with love and caring forever.

So hard a thing to have to do. So hard and so awful and so necessary. For all the sadness now, remember that there is another gentle, honest soul who isn't suffering, because of you.

Small comfort, I know. Hugs to you.
