Hi

It is hard to say from the picture but the vet will be able to advise. I know it's hard but try not to worry too much at this stage - it could be an ulcer or as someone said it could be to do with the mites. Maybe an infected eyelash follicle? These are treatable.

You are already getting him treatment for the suspected mange mites. I'm not sure how long you have been treating your lovely pup but ask the vet to review the pup's response to treatment so far.

I understand that you are very worried, I am the same when my dog has something wrong.

I hope you will let us know how you get on when you see the vet.

No one has accused you of putting him down before being seen, only expressing surprise that you are even considering it - you are the one who introduced the concept into the thread. I'm afraid a forum of dog lovers is not going to be sympathetic to such a notion.

I'm sorry you have your own problems but, and this may seem harsh, perhaps a dog isn't the way to go for you if you are expecting them to be something they're not?

Your last paragraph is completely random IMO. She's not expecting anything of the dog, he's 3 months old with health problems she's trying to sort through. She over-reacted to how people were responding, true.

She mentioned putting the dog down because she seems to think he has some sort of horrible condition that will cause lifelong suffering. Most of us think he has something that is probably easily treated.

I don't think there is a need to be harsh like that. She only wanted help and she mentioned several times that if the dog couldn't be a service dog he'd be a pet quality dog that she'd keep at home while she got another dog for her PTSD companion service dog.

I think the huge misunderstanding was due to her thinking that the dog has a condition that possibly cannot be treated or will cause him severe pain or anguish in the long run. Which is almost certainly not the case!

It's not random to me - just my opinion based on reading the OP's posts (and between the lines) to which I believe I am entitled. She did ask for 'honest opinions' - yet another one who complains when she doesn't like the answers!

Thank you, when i wrote that I was taking care of him and Trying to talk to you all. Its hard to type on the phone with one hand, while the other has to constently stay in motion. Its harder when I have home work to do, and i have pages to write. So I wait until hes a sleep to write my paper, but his health is important, very important regardless of what happens. So, typing up that, while trying not to cry, has proven a great challenge.

Yes i probably am over reacting, but this is could be due to me having full time student for my degree which is around the corner and this class is 10 weeks long. And is the class that can make or break my degree, no i don't care about it as much as i have been, so if i fail this class i fail. But, I do hear about a lot of super moms (doggie moms))) and how they can over come any obstical, i am using their motivation to motivate me in to finishing this class (i have 5 weeks left) and taking care of the baby.

I did notice that hes got another bubble under the previous one that was accidentally popped..(i was feeling it and trying to get a judge of how big, so when i took him in and its changed i can state how big it previously was) and i noticed hes got two more bubbles one above each eye. I put neo-sporon on his ear (the one that popped ) and got him a cone in-case he accidentally pops one and well...(yes i worry that much that i would even bundle him in lots of layers so he don't hurt himself) (you know what i mean, i would love to bundle him up so that he can play without injury but hows he going to be a happy puppy? So don't worry, not going to happen the docs orders and this cone would suffice)

So 3 bubbles total, two (one above each eye) and one under the previous bubble on top of his ear flap (where the ear and head meet)

Hes not playing, but he does get up and walk back and forth, from me to his den and lays down.. Yes he took his meds today, not giving him any till tomorrow after i take him in, going to call his docs up, can't wait till Saturday (which i thought was yesterday, but the doc didn't write down the day, just the month and time)

but hes eating and drinking like no tomorrow, so i take inventory of that too. Which was about 3pm today was the last time he ate when he took his meds, but hes drinking which is good and its almost 8pm.

My shep mix (his friend, my husbands puppy) misses playing with Aries, so i put their dens (kennels) next to each other, that way they can talk, but they can't touch each other (incase Dante (shep mix) accidently paws at Aries's face and hurts him. Dante is perfectly fine had a full check up and everything, tho with a bit of depression since he does miss aries..

Hi, it is nice to see you back. I hope puppy responds well to medication, please keep us updated on his condition, he's such a cute little guy and it's obvious from the video etc. that you love him.

The way you reacted was normal for somebody under stress from school and with a sick dog, so don't let it bother you. It's more important that you finish your class and that Aries recovers well.

Hello and huge sympathies coming your way from me. This is clearly hugely worrying and stressful and I really hope that the vet can put your mind at rest and sort your little pup out.

You asked about insurance - unfortunately I don't think that any of them will cover an existing condition, however it is well worth having for future problems. Do be careful though if you decide to insure..........some companies are really awful and wriggle out of claims if they possibly can. Avoid Entertainment and Leisure like the plague! Pet Plan are very good however, and I can thoroughly recommend them. If you are honest with them they pay up in full without question.

All good wishes for you and your dog.

I heard about that. I called another that was recommended and got 500 bucks.

So the vet has us going to the ER. They feel he has low immune system and dermatological issues. His neck is double in size.

Thats all i know. They are talking to ither specialists to see whats going on and what to do. Hes not moving since noon today. Its like hes givin up, i have hope but its getting so hard. Thanks for the prayers

Oh, no. So sorry you're going through this. Mange etc. does tend to attack a dog with a low immune system so it makes sense. Perhaps he is having some sort of severe allergic reaction? I hope he makes it out okay.

Dogs never give up until they have lost completely and you'd be surprised how resilient puppies can be. Trust the doctors and believe in your precious boy's strength... sending healing vibes for him. I so hope he makes it through this

I know it will get expensive too without insurance, so I feel for you there.. as well. My puppy had an almost $1000 vet bill for parvo treatment, but it was worth it because he lived through it and lived to be 15 years old.

Again, major healing vibes coming your way... please keep us updated, regardless of the outcome.
