Glad to hear you're getting to the bottom of all those problems in the en-suite or wherever. It can be the tiniest crack in the loo that will cause problems, I know that cos of the van and the leaking cistern, just a hairline crack under the handle and nobody could find it, and then when he fitted the new sink and loo, I had a similar problem with the basin waste, a tiny hairline crack and that was brand NEW! I'm just glad he found it and I'm sure you are too. Have a good day grandma.xx
Not the ensuite Nechda - the only problem with that is having to have the roof re-sealed after the winter, which Nir will do.

No, this is the original shower/loo room which was completely re-done during the summer of 2000 when everything in it [and in the kitchen] was ripped out and replaced. The hairline crack which Nir sorted last week and the leaking loo hoses and the swivel lever tap in the shower are in that shower/loo room, not in my ensuite.

Leaking loo hoses all sorted this morning but the swivel lever tap for the shower cannot be fixed. Nir went and got brand new innards, fitted everything back - and came across A Major Problem. Hot water comes through but no cold water, which means it is not only A Major Problem but also A Very Big Major Problem which will need A Very Big Major Building and Plumbing Job, necessitating removing wall tiles [and of course there are no spares], knocking holes through walls etc etc etc and complete re-plumbing from the external water inlet pipes, and as the shower lever tap is on an internal and not external wall it will not be an easy or quick job.

There is no way I am prepared to have major building work done while I am living here, especially for a shower that I have not used since the ensuite was built and do not need. Let the family sort it out after I leave this bungalow, which will be feet first.

Morning all.

Malka am I reading that you haven't taken a shower since you moved in? (Where's the 'peg on the nose' smiley?)
*ducks and runs away fast!

Did the dirty boring deeds this morning. Took me THREE and a half hours to just call into Cablenet (no queue) to arrange to have it moved 2 doors up. I won't bore you with the details I almost dozed off in there in between signing zillions of forms.

Then to the Post Office to post off my understudy's new frock to be told I can't have the dog in there! Geez I've been taking her in there since I got her and took my previous dog in there too! Jobsworths.

Best of all, as I could hardly see out the windows of my Nissan, I pulled into the garage carwash to get it done inside and out - it had stopped raining about half hour before this. THREE blokes stood there stroking their chins and shaking their heads saying 'well no not really because of the rain' ?? I pointed out that it was not now raining (not that I could see WHAT that had to do with it!

They then said 'mmm yes but it will possibly rain again soon'
I remonstrated. They countered with 'there are not many of us on today' ...

I countercountered with 'well THREE of you are talking to me and there are more of you inside and I am the ONLY bluddy customer here at the mo!'

*I should add here that they'd refused to do it on Saturday too saying I should have come in earlier!

Ended up telling them that they should say what they REALLY mean - that it's Wednesday - half day closing for them and tho they have plenty of time to wash one little car they prefer not to do ANY work on a half day closing day!

And that if they require an APPOINTMENT to wash a car they should say so instead of wasting people's time driving there to be turned away!

*I will of course now have to use a different car wash in case they sabotage the Nissan if I take it back!

Good morning fellow members a cold but dry day here.

I was up early taking the proceeds of my big decuttering session to the charity shops and the tip and finding people to give quotes to sort out some heating though I am getting used to wearing three jumpers and two pairs of thick tights .

Next job lunch, I went out without any breakfast and am starving..

Enjoy your day everyone .

Pat - you had better duck then 'cos you are only across the water from me and if I can make a big enough slingshot....!

No, you daft one - that shower was in daily [frequently twice daily] use until I had the ensuite built, which has throne, vanity unit, and a huge [curtained] shower area. Plus enough floor space for me to do donuts in my chair if I so wish!

The one causing the problems is the one that is a part of the bungalow - I still use the loo during the day but the shower section [also curtained] is barely wide enough for my shower chair and even though I had the longer curtain pole extended it is only just long enough to stop my feet from poking through the curtain.

Thought the cow pats were off Sasha, however Ash went this morning on the 8.30am call and it was cow pattish, whilst the others were normal, so have given Ash half a tablet and Sasha has had half as well, Keshi looked disappointed at being left out, handed out a mini charcoal bone to all, they have to sit to get one though, and she forgot she hadn't had a canakur tablet.
Did the 2nd half of brekkie at 8.30am and gave girlies their brekkies, it is egg day today for them. All is still quiet, I took a cup of tea back into my nest and went back to sleep.
We've got a fairly big Dunelm's that moved into the old Asda store when it built a massive one, and another Dunelm's in the other direction that isn't quite as big on a trading estate near the lpg place I go to, been in that.
I daren't spend any pennies at the moment, which is depressing, because I feel I have more than earned a shopping trip, not even dared go in TK Maxx
Was speaking to my friend yesterday, who I have Cruz and Midnight with, and she was saying this tummy bug dogs are getting is thought to be a version of the novo virus that us humans are getting, makes sense I suppose, and that is why the doglets are getting so poorly and it is going on for so long.
Ooooh I sooo long for a shopping spree, you are giving me withdrawal symptoms with your Dunelm fixes.
Glad to hear the Nigerian trip is not only on, but Gordon will not lose wages from his consultancy work, this can only be the light at the end of the tunnel Lynn, because once he has done something like this at short notice they will maybe use him a few more times, and a short trip abroad has got to be better than a couple of months contract abroad.
Hope you have managed to drag Dave back out of the doldrums and back onto the straight and narrow, this motorhome sounds great, although of course you can't do weekend lets, well you could I suppose because I have often looked at hiring one when I want to take all girls to shows hundreds of miles away, which is why I got Norman because he was so adaptable, Hannah Honda is nowhere near as obliging or accomodating sizewise. Eldest Son says I can use his toyota van if needs be, so I have to be happy with that, and with all these puppies I don't have any time to go to shows and socialise anymore anyway. I start Ash at puppy class next Wednesday and Sundays, then when he finally goes off with his daddy, then Keshi will be going, also got to get Mabs back down to earth and the girls need to be kept up to scratch, once Cariad has been spayed. So full Agenda for me for a good few months.
I thought porridge was the thing to eat, I have porridge most mornings and it does stop me snacking, I don't want to eat again till early afternoon, and if I am running around doing stuff it keeps me going till late afternoon, which is when I go for the tomato soup with cheese on toast.
With all that's gone I have lost weight, had to use a belt on some combats I haven't worn for a while yesterday, so every cloud eh?
Well I need to move myself now and get the jobs done I suppose, all nice and cosy here though and tempting to stay where I am
Puppy Fix is Sasha

Awwwwwwww dear little Sasha Love her Afternoon June, sounds like another busy one for you then today. Ash will be quite old when he finally gets to go to his new home then, if you're starting training with him Is this the man who paid for him up front and you never heard from him over Christmas and got you so worried? We don't mind if they're 10 before they go though do we!!!!

Nothing planned for today apart from the usual,

Have a good day all x
Afternoon Sal, you didn't take it to Dave's by any chance did you cos his MOT puter is always stopping them from getting on!! Apparently, although appearing NEW which they are, he says they are ancient and can be a nightmare for them, so don't take it out on the garage too much. I'm sure your "usual" involves another non stop day there Sal. Can you see those neighbours packing yet??? That'd be good wouldn't it!

Oh big "sighs" yes grandma, you can't be doing with all that noise and mess, make them leave it till you've left feet first then! Hopefully, that'll be a long way off though

Afternoon Pat, I'd have been steaming at those guys too They're obviously paid by somebody else then, they get their wages so what do they care how many cars they actually wash Hope you find an alternative cos I can understand you wouldn't go back on principle would you

He should be ok then Jane, but then kitchens are next to the back door aren't they, whereas the lounge might not be, it's their blooming shoes that carry that stuff everywhere, so put loads of old sheets around the place. It's going to look goooooregous isn't it, I love having new plaster. We'll be having that once this fireplace comes out in the lounge, but I'm not looking forward to the upheaval.
Can't have that Kelly Osbourne colour now

Afternoon Mini, it's good having a real good clearout isn't it, makes you feel all satisfied, especially when loads of it can go off to the charity shops. Hope you have a nice lunch and a bit of feet up time if not a nanny nap Mini.

Well, went to the hairdressers, and funnilly enough I got the "I was just about to ring you" when there was NObody in there at ALL!!! I suspect a tea break cos she had to go and get her. Anyhoo, she wanted to strip all this colour out, but my hair is in very good condition, silky and shiny and when I asked if it could affect the state of the hair itself, she said it would make it coarser, so she got the no-no there!

I've decided on the violet tone instead of this red,. so she's going to go as light as she dare with the brown (cos my ends are almost black with this bright red they're so dark) mix some purple in with it, the top part will take nicely as it's a lot lighter to half way down my head, and then the ends, she's going to put something through it to lightly strip it before applying lots of foils cos apparently it has to be in foils, it can't go on your head kind of thing.

I'm getting the impression it's gonna be a looooooong old process, I'll be stuck in that blooming chair for about 3 hours and that was the whole reason I stopped going to have it coloured, I resorted to the box from the supermarket.

Having thought about it on the way home, I'm umm'ing and arr'ing again, because she showed me half a dozen clumps of my hair which she had played with which she stole from me after she cut it last time, and the one I liked, which was a lovely mid brown violet shade, she couldn't "remember" what she had done with that bit WHY go to the trouble of taking samples of my hair, doing this that and the other with each strand, sticking it on a bit of paper with writing against each one, and then when I come to choose the one I liked which hadn't gone orange or yellow, she tells me she's "forgotten" what she actually did with that bit??? Doesn't seem right does it somehow....I'm getting bad vibes again now, my hairdresser phobia is starting to kick in again here.....I have a nice purple box in my bathroom cupboard I might use it later lol!

Zena loves the new rug, it's gorgeous. Had a lovely time in Dunelms chatting at the customer service counter. A couple had bought the same rug which they had brought down from upstairs, and I thought that was mine, but he said it was his, so I told him he had superb taste cos mine is the same. I eventually got it, but then when we put it in the car, the queue was a mile long again, so I did no more than go back in to look at other rugs. I've bought a mink, shaggy rug for the bedroom now, where Zena likes to lay alongside my bed, and again it looks fab. It shimmers and goes lighter if you run your hand one way over it, it's like a really soft brush, it's lovely. I will take pics later (sorry June! ) I can see you going back again tomorrow Jen!!!

Still bright sunshine down south, although the wind is picking up a bit and it's turning very cold, just right for diving under the duvet on top of my lovely, bouncy new bed topper, that's fab too!

I can't hide this big rug from Dave, he's bound to notice it, the colour and style is so different to the old one, it's a good 3" thick too, really luxurious, Zena is flaked out right in the middle of it, but if I pick the camera up she'll be off!

I fancy the Kelly Osbourne colour, it's a grey with a pink/purple hue, cos when she was on the telly, Dave said how much he liked her hair. I'll have to look a bit odd for a few months, very odd in fact, but by letting all the grey come through I'm sure it's "do-able". Take a Google Linda, it's a lovely colour she's got!
It's a strange combination - not quite grey and not quite pink, but not marbled either. I wonder how they got that effect? Are you having it then?

Ignore this - I just saw your post! Sounds lovely!

You're doing puppy classes? When is Ash going then?

Gorgeous picture of little Sasha, what a pretty little girl, she is.

Helena - I've just looked at Kelly Osbourne's hair colour on-line. Really lovely colour and surely will be much easier to keep than a dark colour. So many of us go blonder when we get older as the grey doesn't show so much Bummer about the rug .... do they actually have it in stock?

Malka - I so hope that the DDR has now packed its bags for good. You've had more than your fair share of things going wrong Let's hope that the Malka residents is now sorted

Nippy - A new laptop would be good. I need one too, so if your OH finds any BOGOF offers I'd love the free one.

JackBox - You must be the 7th or 8th person on here (including me) that have had things go wrong or pack up just recently!! I hate replacing essential items as I just feel cheeted out of the money I could have spent on something nice

Majuka - You will probably have walked all of those dogs by now and I hope you have thawed out ...... this northerly wind is bitter.

June - Darling Sasha, she is just so cute and has such a girlie face My goodness you've got a lot on for the next few months! Why are you having to take Ash to puppy classes, can't the new owners do that?

Sal - What a pain not getting the MOT done as planned this morning. Computers are fantastic when they work, but such a pain when they go wrogn - I certainly rely on mine a lot nowadays. I hope the car passes when you get it done.

Tangutica - You post made me laugh: -
They then said 'mmm yes but it will possibly rain again soon'. I remonstrated. They countered with 'there are not many of us on today' ...

I countercountered with 'well THREE of you are talking to me and there are more of you inside and I am the ONLY bluddy customer here at the mo!'
. There are so many lazy 'workers' out there who have no idea about 'customer satisfaction' etc.

Well I walked the dogs and Rucksack now seems fine (probably the 1/2 tablet I gave him) this morning but Flash's tum was a bit upset. I think I know the cause - rabbit pooh I am so tempted to put an elastic band round their muzzles when I'm out - they eat sooooooooo much siht!!! Anyway it was blooming freezing cold and my cheeks on my face felt as though they were about to fall off. It's the wind more than the temperature.

OH has gone up to Hatfield to sort out the shower in the student house. We put a new power shower in 3 years ago so have no idea what has gone wrong ..... of course the word abuse does spring to mind.

Lousy morning. It is freezing out there and has downpoured on and off all the time we have been out.

We did get breakfast because although it was pouring with rain, we were dry under the canopy.

Flaming Specsavers wouldn't allow dogs in so I had to hang around for 45 minutes while Dave got his eyes tested. The bargains they offered aren't really bargains at all because they just want to pile on the extras which usually come as standard at Boots - told him it would be a false economy for, in my opinion, a sub-standard service compared to Boots, but would he listen? Would he heck. The 'not letting dogs in' was the capping point as Boots are happy for one of us to sit in the corner with Rosie on our knee. Needless to say, we will be using Boots in future (which he should have done anyway, the idiot!!!)

So, we're home, wet through, freezing and ready for the cup of coffee that is now sitting in front of us.

I hope the shower hasn't been damaged. Do you have insurance for damage?

How do you find renting to the students? Has the house been taken care of?
