What is the difference between IE and, say, Firefox?
The advantages of Firefox, apart from the pretty much cosmetic and handy features, are that although there may be as many or more bug reports the issues tend not to be critical vulnerabilities and are fixed quicker.

Chrome & Opera are faster, especially on lower powered machines.

Easy!

Chrome - fast, light and gets the job done.
FF - Feature rich!
Opera - Fast and not quite as feature rich as Firefox & not open source.
IE - Abomination upon the face of the internet.

So, if you've got an older machine, use Chrome or maybe Opera.

If you've got a machine with some poke, use Firefox or Opera.

If you've got any self respect, don't use IE.

I don't know if I have a machine with some poke it works
I am thinking Chrome, I dont want heaps of features, as you can tell from above it would be lost on me
Do you have to take IE off or when you download Chrome it takes over and can you get back to IE, not that I want to, I want some self respect

You can just go into google and search for and download firefox and chrome. The icon for IE will stay on your computer so you can use whichever you want.

Just downloaded Chrome.

wont do for me, as it doenst do group tabbed browsing.

meaning, when i have a bookmark folder: 'ie, "my personal faves", i cant open them as one group at once, can only open them one at a time.

unlike IE or FF

ive checked the settings, cant find this function.

any chrome users answer this?

if you click on the picture of a spanner, there is a bookmark manager on there click on that and it opens a new page and should have all you bookmarks/faves in there if you want it on the same page go to the spanner, click on it and then click on 'always show on bookmark bar' and then it should show it below the web address and on the right it should say other book marks click on that and that should pop up faves.
Thats as good as I have got yest but I think I lost all technology credit in this thread alone
