To the original poster, to be clear, no one is suggesting you bring in a professional to look at the puppies behaviour.........but to determine whether your adult dog is actually aggressive, OR boisterous play.

You can appreciate , the importance of getting it right, and that cant be done unless the problem is seem in the flesh , so to speak.

Who suggested that, ??? the poster was asking for advice about her older established dog, who is dog aggressive,,,NOT the puppy

So John, as you seem to think everyone else here is "bordering on the ridiculous" maybe you should be the one giving advice " on how to introduce a puppy to a dog aggressive dog!!!! or is it dog aggressive, ??

As we cant see for ourselves......how do we know.

Mmmmmmm, the wrong advice here could have serious repercussions..

I would think that this poor girl feels sorry she ever asked.

All I would say is that just because somebody has a headache does not mean they need an MRI or a brain surgeon.

Please don`t turn this genuine thread into a playground squabble. If you wish to aim a poke at me, then be my guest, I am at your disposal on PM.

We are trying to make you and the OP understand that it is irresponsible and unproductive to diagnose possible aggression issues on the net.

Free does not equal good.

Not too worried about my credentials on that one thanx anyway

This is an open Forum NOT

When did i say it wasnt?

some professional impractical edifice.

"professional impractical"

Surely thats an oxymoron

Besides, since when are both the above mutually exclusive???

Not a lot of help to the poor girl who cried for help though.

Just what isn't a lot of help?
Which of the several posts giving advice weren't helping?

Quite seriously, just what kind of time, geographical and ether spanning magic pill did you have in mind???

And how do you know you are talking for the OP?

AND by the way, I will give my advice to anybody I wish and do not need YOUR permission Krusie, it is a Forum is`nt it ? Free expression and all that ?

errrrr..................really really confused now, where on earth did i say any of this????
Even more confusing when it was you yourself that stated you dont have any advice?

Dont mind me, advise away......... like i said, i have given advice, i dont have anymore without seeing the problem for myself, or until the OP comes back to give more info.

All the girl wants is a bit of friendly advice to help her cope with the immediate problem of "puppy behaviour".

But she got some!!!
Im very very much definitely scratching my head now! (and see above)

She probably does not have the financial resources to fund a visit from Cesar Millan and his TV crew.

What the hell are you on about???

When you buy a dog, you need to feed it, train it, take it to the vet, and board it should you go on holiday.
Why would anyone think otherwise.
Why are you assuming the OP has a problem with this?
Do you know her?
Do you know even know the trainer would be expensive?
Its pretty standard advice on every dog forum in the land to recommend a trainer or behaviourist?

And Cesar Milan. WTF????
What makes you think i would reference him???

Of course that all cost money, its cost money

To suggest that puppy behaviour needs specialist attention is utterly ridiculous and bordering on the irresponsible.

I never did. I recommended some good basic sensible management and supervision, crates, stairgates, and a dog trainer re the "aggression issue", not for puppy training (still scratching my head, its very very itchy now )

Adult dogs - YES, but puppies NO. Puppies are like kids, nothing but a damned nuicence. You simply have to get through it. There is no call for the worlds greatest specialists to get involved, just a bit of common sense family disciplines. Specialists for puppy behaviour ! You have just got to be joking !

Thats must be why there are hundreds an thousands of puppy training schools throughout the world then??? (says me, having just come back from puppy training school )

AND although I am as you proudly say not the greatest dog expert in the world

I didnt say that, you did

Please don`t pick to pieces every word people like me say, keep your mind on the target, Get off that high horse, concentrate on the thread and help the girl.
John Bull

err, pot kettle black??? and see above on all counts.

PS - please do not degenerate this thread into a personal matter.

err, again, pot kettle black? (head very very scabby now

I am more than willing to play games.

I aint, I've been quite serious actually

The thread ? Well this girl still needs help.
Done

Hopefully the OP will return (especially as we are fellow kiwis) so we can help more, in the meantime its best we wait, instead of assuming we know how she feels
