I appreciate everyone's responses! I think i'm reading way too much into all of this, and making it a bigger deal than it needs to be. Obviously the dogs are handling the change a lot better than I am! I trained Sophie (my 3 year old Golden) pretty extensively with a local trainer and she is extremely well behaved. So far the little pup is very well behaved too, but now i'm trying to figure out if I should also train her. So far, I have not really given myself a chance to bond with this pup for fear of upsetting Sophie...but that isn't fair to the pup so I think I need to readjust my way of thinking.
