An excellent Stephen King book is his book of short stories-'two past midnight'.

The best story though is 'The Langoliers' which was made into a film and is almost as good as the book!

Its the one where a passenger plane flys into some sort of storm and when the peeps wake up-they find that 95% of the passengers and all of the crew have dissapeared.

The plane and those who were asleep are in limbo where time dont really excist. The 'Langoliers' are munch munchy creature things which literally eat up and clear everything from the previous time frame.Good story and the film is identical to the book!!! Look out for it on the sci-fi channel as it occasionally gets played on there, but in 2 halfs due to being kinda long.
