Wow and here I thought everyone on this site was a dog lover. Yet people who might rescue a dog, and a few years later realize it's a pit bull, would just give it to someone to kill it. Just for being some "type" that idiot politicians have decided is evil.

I'm all for laws WHEN THEY MAKE SENSE. But this one doesn't. It makes no more sense than laws against two men having sex or against various other sexual acts (sodomy is still "illegal" in some states in the USA). Heck, there have been laws against such things as putting ice cream in your back pocket. Some laws make sense. Some are just put out there by brainless idiots.

I hope BSL gets repealed. It doesn't work and all it does is punish good people.

i would never buy/rehome a 'type' i really dont see why people do this,knowing they are ilegal and could be taken away at any point...it would distraught me

You can't always know exactly what a puppy is going to turn out to be. At 8 weeks old they could be a Staffie or a Pit bull or some other mix of breeds. So some might not knowingly do it, but might end up doing it by accident, essentially.

So then they raise this beautiful dog, love it, and they're just supposed to have it killed? When it hasn't done anything wrong? Just because a bunch of moron politicians say so?

I didn't say you did. Sorry I gave you the impression that I was saying you did. But borderdawn sure did say she'd give the dog up due to the law if she discovered it was a pit bull or pit bull type.

Exactly. There IS no point. It doesn't address the real problem of dangerous dogs and instead punishes people whose dogs are not a danger. Brilliant law, that one.

Yes you're right he rescued a dog he thought was a SBT puppy and once he found out it wasn't he should have handed it straight over to be killed.... sod the fact the dogs never done anything wrong in it's life or that he loves that dog beyond compare. The law says he's a dangerous dog so he should be killed

Even though his other dog a collie cross has bitten someone and killed several small animals... the APBT has never shown any aggression to even a cat... yeah you're right kill the one that's never done anything wrong.
