i just saw a bowl at pet planet called the brake fast bowl to stop dogs eating to fast,i think it is a really good idea for the big dogs like bernese mountain dogs, newfoundlands, ect who can die by eating to fast with bloat.

Any breed can suffer from bloat, which is why it's important to slow dogs down who eat too fast.

I've not seen the bowls, but a couple of tennis balls usually do the trick !

It's not 'worse' as the outcome for any breed isn't good, but deeper chested breeds have a higher chance of suffering from it.

Then again someone who overfeeds a greedy, fast eating dog has a higher chance than my dogs of it.

I lost my great dane to bloat. Phil's Breagh was a lucky survivor. It's more common than you think, isn't it?

Funny you should mention the tennis balls, my mum used to put a couple of rubber balls in GSD's bowl to slow him down.
