Where I am it frequently rains in one yard, and doesn't next door. Or it rains in the backyard, and not in the front. I'm in NY and we have all four seasons.

Quarantine sounds awful. I just got a dog from South Africa and I was worried she would have to stay somewhere, but the quar. was for 30 days in my house.

Where in CA were you? I had a neighbor that was from Hawaii when I was younger. They used to babysit me, and they told me about the mongooses Or is it mongeese? lol jk

Lived in San Diego. What part of NY you live in?

The mongooses are everywhere. I think they were imported onto the islands to help cut down the rat population. They have no natural enemy on the islands so they flourished. Now they are a nuisance and there are still tons of rats!
