Hi,

Ear mite are very common in cats and quite common in puppies. However, it is a rare cause of ongoing ear disease in adult dogs.

Bacterial and yeast infections are far more common. In ongoing cases, they may be triggered by allergic conditions such as food allergy or atopy.

The best way to get rid of the problem would be to get the dog's disease fully investigated.

Good luck

Julien
