Yeah Ian, the berries from them are fine, not a cause to worry if your 2 eat a few...
Although there not exactly tasty if they are like my pup everything they encounter on a walk ends up in there mouths...

Lets hope so Ian. The area where our "Rowan" tree is, there is a lethal spread of wet leaves and squashed berries, as well as very tasty whole ones, so if the don't give Len a tummy ache, I'm bound to slip and fall on my bum ..

Hi Ian some berries are highly poisonous, it they are birds usually leave them alone so a good indication of how safe the are is if the birds are eating them.
Rowan is really the Mountain Ash and is a small tree with medicinal properties, my grandmother used Rowan Jelly to treat sore throats (she was the one who treated people in the village and attended births/laid out the dead).
I would discourage eating any berries if you are unsure what they are.

Rowan berries on a Mountain Ash tree...

I read some where not to stop your dog eating cow, sheep pooh, if they are on a raw diet it is probably the wild way to get veggies, now I know eating pooh sends alarm bells ringing but this could make sense, also if they have access to it make sure they are wormed regularly...
