I had a border collie once that waited for the postman and when the letters started coming through the letter box, he used to jump up and grab them and nearly pull the postman through as well !.
She used to pull the letters through the same, and DESTROY them! She tore off a wire letter box (by the screws!) and my mum tried allsorts to prevent it. In the end she ended up getting a new door with no letterbox, and one on the wall outside!
