I had one Kirsty but it didn't work for me that was going back 12 and 1/2 years ago now though, it didn't hurt at all going in and I had no side effects after either.

I had one with my first baby Kirsty and it was like a breath of fresh air. One minute I'm in agony, thinking I'm gonna die, and the next I'm ok, with no pain at all. I had no after affects either.

The only thing that did sting a bit was the catheta that they gave me beforehand

I had two. With my first one the person inserting that big long needle kept missing the mark and ended up doing it three times!!

On the second, I begged for it for at least three hours so finally the doctor relented but once they turned me over after inserting the needle they realized that my baby was ready to see the world and it was all over within 20 minutes of getting the epidural. Oh well, that was 20 minutes of relief I guess LOL. I had no side effects with the first but with this second on I had strange "electrical" pains running up my spine for a couple of days. When it happened I couldn't move. That was scary.

Anyway, just as everyone else has said, it is an idividual experience and what they or I have gone through may not be the same for you. Good luck!

I've also had 2, and they were a god send. Why have pain if you don't have to
I had no side affects, apart from feeling a bit sick. If I was doing it all again, (which I'm not ) I would definitely have another.
