Okay day of funny tales here, just spoken to my neighbour opposite (ish) who has been telling me for years he cannot grow daffodils not even a shoot appears and blames slugs/snails nothing goes right for the daffs.
He does not garden as such.
Last year he even brought ready flowered pots so he knew they were good but this year nothing again. Tonight on seeing me coming back with Gert he came over and said I am just about to plant my daffs last try will you pop over and see what I am doing wrong or tips. I thought nothng of it as I assumed again he was planting in pots already flowered daffs as opposed to waiting for bulbs in Autumn.
I had to stop myself laughing out loud but managed to solve the issue he had the pots ready and compost etc in them the ready flowered daffs on one side and then snipped off the daff heads - he is planting the daffodil flower head and discarding for some unknown reason the bulb, his answer "well you live and learn"
