Lynn I expect Dillon is starting to feel a bit more creaky (as am I) as age creeps on. I was taking the golden Paste but hadn't felt any effect plus I was waking up in the morning ruddy cheeked so wonder if it was upping my blood pressure. The damp weather never helps.
Was awake with the wind most of the night. Not mine, storm Doris!
Change of plan for me. Have to retrieve large item from post office in town that postman deemed to big for letter box. The old postie would've left it on top of the box as it's hidden and quite safe. Just wished I knew yesterday when I was actually in town grrr. That was a wasted journey as well. I need a new tyre for my sack barrow but it's looking like it might be easier to buy a whole new one.
Hope Doris blows out and everyone is safe.
Our regular postie leaves it with a near neighbour that we are good friends with.
And, rather than going into town, you can the package re-delivered on a day when you know that you will be home.
Just listen out for it and don't dare go to the loo..........

I doubt it, its in her hind leg and if its showing as a lump than means its well advanced. I'm being positive for my friend, but have said to her not to let her suffer unnecessarily, I imagine they'll have her in to see whats what and then we'll know the worst case scenario

June everything crossed something can be done for Timba.

How is everyone faring ? Wind awful here luckily I still have fences up and hoping they will remain up. Feels like it might be at the peak now.
Just had a call from Beth who is away in London on a shoot. George and Phoebe's school have been ringing the house but Paul has not been answering. So they rang Beth's mum who lives in whitehaven who then rang Beth who rang me.
He was in as the van was out the front. So knocked and let him know then rang Beth know he was on his way to get Phoebe who needs picking up.
Beth feeling a lot better now.
Unlocked the front door and it has a vacuum now the new one has been fitted so well. The wind blew it inwards so hard it gave me quite a shock.
I also slipped in the garden earlier all ok hip a bit achy but Dillon was play bowing and barking while I was hanging onto a tree and another solid object trying to figure out how best to get up.
Really hoping this has died down somewhat when Mark has to drive along the river bank and Gorden is making his way down the motorway.
Harvey have they shut the Orwell bridge do you know ? They were talking about it earlier today.
Hope you and the dogs have managed to avoid any falling branches or trees.
Take care all out there.

Oh Lynn, do be careful. I know what you mean when you go flat on your face, they are so 'helpful' (not)
Seems to have stopped raining here for the moment at least. Thought I'd shut my bedroom windows properly, but wind forced one open and it was like a hurricane coming down the stairs!!

If I had let the chocolate wrappers go instead of trying to get them when they got away from me filling up the recycling bin I wouldn't of ended up on my bum in a bunch of stinging nettles.
I do say to myself sometimes your getting like your mother. lol:
I think staying positive for your friend is a good thing but like you I feel there probably isn't much they can do.
I remember the Great Dane that lived near us at Fennells he had a lump come up on a hind leg and it was cancer he was immediately put to sleep amputation for him was not really an option and as heart broken as the guy was he felt it best to just deal with it straight away.
Shadow was only 5.

Timba was found about 10 years ago so she is at least that, so not a bad innings considering the state she was in at the time. So very very sad. No idea whats waiting for me with Cariad yet though, she's had a good innings as well,11 is a good age for a big dog and I wouldn't let her suffer for the sake of a few months of possible pain and to make me feel better.

Quite agree June. 10 and 11 are good ages for big dogs.
Just had another candid camera moment with the wind. I could see the cover off my large outdoor table and chairs coming off and cannot afford to lose that it wasn't cheap and is made for the set. Went out to try to tie it to the chairs the wind got up and next thing I know I am covered in it.
Gave up took it off and tucked it up in a corner till it all settles down. Soon hopefully about time it bogged off.
