Donegal is also beautiful. I have a fondness for where you live, my mum hails from there. Been several times and I love it

Well I'm glad I poked my nose in here today (saw it last night and thought it was a 'personal' message)

Or I'd have missed these FANTASTIC PHOTOS!

I now want to go there and I want to go there NOW!

*I'm a disgrace to the Irish - coming from an Irish family and never visited Ireland in my life. Even my kids have been on short Dublin breaks and the like.

Have put this on my bucket list. Ireland before I die!

Of course, looking at your photos, you were VERY lucky with the weather. I bet it rains non stop if and when I visit!

Lovely photos; thank you and yes I know all those places.

Kerry beats Donegal hands down and I have lived in both. Kerry really is the... bees knees, the top of the milk, the icing on the cake

But I am chuckling re folk wanting to live here and that is a totally different proposition. Ireland is a very backward county in so many ways and it drives incomers NUTS, and the country is also utterly corrupt politically. If you have time ask google and or youtube for Healy Rae and read the comments

Services are shockingly poor also.

And while the people are grand and so friendly to visitors ( taking their money!!! ) that changes when you move in

My first year in Ireland was an education. I was promised enough firewood to fill a barn.. No none of the promises were filled! I have learned since that if an Irishman promises anything, get it THERE AND THEN or forget it

As for landlords!!!

When visitors speak of moving here I say, think! YOU get the cream and we get the skim

I have learned the hard way to survive here and more than survive and I am detached from the village etc by choice. So the beauty feeds me and I can give all I can. The village here is a hotbed of strife and gossip. Toxic, and yet looks so lovely

NB been in Ireland 12 years now and there can still be very nasty surprises.

But come on holiday and enjoy it all without the hassles of real life here...The beauty is real. And a healing of tired minds and bodies

I am planning a web site and to offer for a modest fee a personal itinerary as I have learned many glorious off the main road places of huge beauty..to be shared.

For a less modest fee. a personal escort, I already do his for friends

Was in Donegal 1o years,. did not know what Ireland was really like till I came south 3 years ago. Donegal is too near the Border and too English

The difference was and is palpable. Took my breath away.

Will try to put a few photos on photobucket of the view here from my kitchen sink.. totally awesome and while many no longer see it as they are used to it but for me, a constant breathtaking beauty.
