Places I have dreamt of will become reality .....Itinerary..........

29th Jun 2013Palma, Majorca

Beaches or bargains, the sea or sights. Palma has it all, together with enough sunshine and souvenirs to keep anyone happy. If you like beaches, cafes or simply lazing around in the sunshine, you'll love Palma, together with the nearby resorts of Palma Nova and Magaluf. Before you relax, though, make sure you visit Palma City itself to see the Moorish palace, the designer stores and the quaint shops and cobbled streets of the old city, behind the Gothic Cathedral. And for souvenirs, make a bee-line for Inca, the largest street market on the island which opens every Thursday.

30th Jun 2013At Sea

1st Jul 2013Villefranche, French RivieraArrive 07:00 - Depart 17:00

The enduring beauty of the French Riviera awaits you in Villefranche. Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo and Monaco are within easy reach, thus ensuring you experience the true glamour of France's most famous coast. Small and welcoming, Villefranche is a typical town on the French Riviera. Beyond its traditional charm, however, it is ideally situated for visiting the wealth of surrounding towns that have made the region so famous. Think the pleasures of Cannes or the flowers of Nice, the sights of Monaco or the Grand Casino of Monte Carlo and they are all within easy reach.

2nd Jul 2013Livorno, ItalyArrive 07:00 - Depart 19:00for Florence and Pisa

Think sights, sights and more sights. This is the perfect excuse to discover the real pleasures of Tuscany, and the real magic of Pisa. Wander through the ancient cobbled streets of Florence amd enjoy a coffee or Italian ice cream while you soak in the atmosphere. Visit the Uffizi Galleries, one of the best art museums in the world, before taking in the famous Duomo cathedral, the Santo Spirito church and the magnificent bronze doors of the Basilica, aptly named 'the gates of heaven' by Michelangelo. And then wonder if the Leaning Tower, one of four impressive buildings in the Field of Miracles in Pisa, really is a hidden treasures and ambience of Pisa itself.

3rd Jul 2013Rapallo, ItalyArrive 07:00 - Depart 17:00

4th Jul 2013Toulon, FranceArrive 08:00 - Depart 17:00

Combining the glamour of the French Riviera with the feel of a typical French town, Toulon gives you the chance to discover the real Cote D'Azur. A former military port encircled by ancient fortifications, Toulon remains totally French. Where the ship docks, for example, the promenade is lined with cafes where you can enjoy a typical local dish of fresh mussels. Or you might prefer to simply relax with a glass of wine or a coffee as you watch the local fishermen mend their nets.

5th Jul 2013Barcelona, SpainArrive 09:00 - Depart 18:00

Whether you head for the beaches or the bars, the cafes or the museums, Barcelona is charming as well as cosmopolitan, appealing as well as relaxing. From the lapping waves of the beaches to the hubbub of Las Ramblas, Barcelona has something for everyone. The famous pedestrian street of Las Ramblas features countless outdoor cafes, colourful flower stalls, jugglers and street entertainers who have turned living statues into a real art form. Take a stroll through the winding streets of the medieval Gothic quarter and you'll find traditional tapas bars, including Picasso's old hangout, 'Els Quatre Gats'. Go to Plaza de Catalunya, the heart of the modern centre and you'll see amazing houses designed by Gaudí together with his unfinished cathedral. And for a livelier atmosphere, don't miss the shopping and food complex of Port Vell, or the cable car ride from the World Trade Centre to the castle in the mountain above the city.

6th Jul 2013Palma, MajorcaArrive 06:00 - Depart 23:00

7th Jul 2013At Sea

8th Jul 2013TrapaniArrive 09:00 - Depart 17:00

The Greeks, the Romans, the Saracens, the Normans – they all squabbled over the pretty hook-shaped harbour of Trapani. And no wonder. Packed with reminders of its long and colourful past, this place offers up great sights, waist-bustingly good seafood and bags of that irresistible Sicilian charm. It’s a west coast corner to fall head over heels for.......

9th Jul 2013Naples, ItalyArrive 08:00 - Depart 17:30

This is the most spectacular natural setting in Italy. With its beautiful bay overlooked by Mount Vesuvius, a sunny climate and lots to see, Naples is unmissable. A stroll through the narrow streets and hustle and bustle of the local markets that sell literally everything is an experience in itself in Naples. That's before you discover the memorable sights like the majolica-tiled cloister of the Church of Santa Chiara, the local craftsmen of San Gregorio Armeno who make the famous Neapolitan crèche figures, or the Galleria Umberto where designer shops sit amidst glorious architecture. Don't forget to take the chairlift up to Mount Vesuvius itself or the tour to Pompeii and the ancient ruins of Herculaneum. And why not take the short boat ride to the picturesque and exclusive island of Capri?

10th Jul 2013RomeArrive 07:00 - Depart 19:00

11th Jul 2013Calvi, CorsicaArrive 07:00 - Depart 15:00

There’s no better way to arrive in Calvi than by cruise ship. As you pull into the iconic harbour, you’ll be greeted by its towering citadel. Beneath the soaring peaks of the Monte Cinto, this 15th-century outpost keeps watch over the whole town. Look beyond it, and you’ll discover a stylish holiday playground that’s a magnet for the yacht-owning super-rich. Cue designer boutiques, trendy seafood restaurants, and a four-mile stretch of glistening white sand.......

12th Jul 2013Palamos, SpainArrive 09:00 - Depart 17:00

Hundreds of years old, yet now a thriving and modern Spanish port, Palamos gives you a glimpse into the local culture – and the perfect opportunity to relax. On the east coast of Spain, north of Barcelona, Palamos was founded around a natural harbour in 1277. The legacy of fishing continues today and the day's catch is still auctioned on the busy quayside in the late afternoon, giving you the chance to see traditional fishing the Spanish way. That's if you can spare the time from relaxing on the superb beach or taking a tour to Figueres, the famous city where Dali was born and lived until his death in 1989.

Not snowing here at the moment, although every so often the odd flake comes down, pretty cold though.
We have more or less solid poos this morning, I am cautiously optimistic, but don't want to say too much. Babies ate their breakfast at full pelt, and were looking round for more, Che carrying his bowl around like Oliver Twist, Sasha looking hopefully at me, I am giving her lots of small meals at the moment, her next one will be after I have got the others out with mum, otherwise there will be screams of rage and jealousy from the Big 3. I have found my camera, it was under some cushions, probably put there out of the way of Sasha and forgotten about. She is very good really, she has her cardboard box to finish off, not much of it left really, and if she goes to get something she shouldn't I say Sasha No, and she comes running over and gets a cuddle and tummy tickle. Soooo maybe piccies at some point today. Everyone sleeping brekkie off at the moment, so house very quiet. I am still sleeping on the couch and will stay here until I feel OK about putting Sasha with the others, a few days of solid poos will make me feel safer as well, there is no way I want her re-infecting with whatever it is. Maybe I overeacted to it yesterday, but can't risk (or afford) another one going downhill and the subsequent stay in the vets.
I hope you get someone able to feed the cat, it will be warm and dry though, so even if it is later than normal I am sure it won't come to much harm, better than being outside in the cold and not fed like so many unfortunate so called 'family pets' Girlies all got a big tea last night and a big brekkie, they are warm and dry, Cariad went back in for me to give her brekkie in bed, her and Mabs seem to take turns on that one. Lona eats at the back door so she is fed first!!!
Sounds like Dave is a bit more positive this week Helena, and hope he finds his camper van, will he park it at work, will he be warm enough in it???
Hope Gordon hears some positive news soon about a job, at least he has his bits and pieces bringing some money in.
Jenny have a good day with the boys and fingers crossed they stay on the right side of things.

Good morning all.

Bright sunshine at the moment, but the side roads are terrible after what looks like a light dusting of the white stuff overnight.

Just back from the doctors with Gary (8.10 am appointment - yuk). Just a review and a bit of a waste of time, but it's done with now. Basically, the advice was that the headaches and dizziness are normal after a brain bleed and take a long time to go.

It was 4 am before Rosie started to settle and again, looks much better this morning. Now I'm hoping that it keeps up with us not having a walk today - fingers crossed.

Snow is forecast for this afternoon - I do wish the stuff would go away and never return

Have a good 'un all and stay safe

Good morning fellow members just braved the blizzard to take Chloe in the field. We are both warm and dry now .
There were three early lambs born down there yesterday, poor things not the best of starts to have snow today.

I was supposed to be babysitting but the twins swimming lesson has been cancelled so I will clean the kitchen cupboards instead.

I am waiting for the postman to bring new muslin nappies to make more marmalade. If he doesn't come I will have to use a boiled linen tea towel . I will make the marmalade tomorrow a nice little job for a cold day.

I hope all the poorly people and dogs are better today.
Take care when out and about everyone.

Kazz, I am so envious I love cruises.
I see these go from Harwich, it's more difficult for us to get there. We did one from there and it took us nearly all day to get to the boat

It is cold here and has started to snow, it's very fine but coming down heavier than it was. The school on our estate is closed today as we get cut off very easily. I am worried about the cat at work as I doubt I will be able to reach him today, will have to try and find someone closer to feed him. I had already planned to take today off so that was ok.

I have my Kindle fire, I am still finding my way around but liking it so far, very easy to set up and can already access my emails. I think it's shocking that it doesn't come with a charger or any protection for the screen. I have even found out how to make it read the texts out loud, could be useful in a powercut!

I hope everyone has a good day and stays safe.
Morning Gerri. Enjoy the kindle fire and I hope the snow doesn't get to bad where you are and someone can get to feed the cat.

However, Rucksack was more keen on eating grass The good news is they then both came in had half of their breakfast and both are back asleep now.

I hope all the poorly dogs and members have improved this morning.

Stay safe in any snow you have.
Morning Jenny. That was an early start glad to hear Rucksack's tummy is still doing well.
I want to know why Dillon is raring to go after his breakfast and not wanting a snooze.

I echo what has been said before, I hope all 4 and 2 legged friends are well today.
Pepsi seems fine.... she is still in bed asleep so I'm not entirely sure
I'm going to watch the snow now, I will be back later
Morning Jenny. I hope Pepsi is well when she wakes up.
The snow your end sounds quite bad and in Wales. I have read your other posts and I hope your son isn't stuck in the traffic to long.

Morning Steph. Poor Mojo glad to hear she is happy now with her coat.

Chris I hope you've had a good night with Rosie and that she's a lot better this morning. June I hope all is well when you come down to the babies this morning, and don't fall over all those bits of carboard lying about Jennyg I'm glad to hear those boys seem ok now. Jenny I hope Pepsi will be ok too when she wakes up. I can't understand why the tip of the West Country will have rain whereas the rest of us will get it as snow, cos in theory, by the time it gets here it should have warmed up being daylight Hey ho, you're better off with rain I suppose and I hope your Son gets home safely, no doubt you can ring him? It couldn't have come at a better time for us if it's coming, cos Dave is safely home and won't be going anywhere till Tuesday by which time I hope it's gone.

We'll have to get out skates on and get down the beach before it arrives. I do understand why they close the schools because of them not being able to get back home, but how come we had to go to school in the snow donkeys years ago, cos I remember walking through it

Stay safe everyone, it sounds pretty bad doesn't it, but it'll be interesting to hear how much you all have by the end of the day. If you can get to work, it's the getting back that you've got to worry about so stay safe.
Morning Helena. I hope you get to the beach before the snow arrives. Glad to read Dave is home safe.
When we went to school most of the teachers in those days lived local where as now they all seem to travel so I wonder if that's why we had to traipse in the snow drifts to school.

He currently has a bed made up on the sofa and will be staying there for a while until he feels he can manage the stairs.

Nothing much planned for today, apart from popping to the shop,a quiet day would be lovely
Have a good day all and for those of us with snow stay safe xx

Late on parade again but I have a good excuse - after giving Pereg her first pill I went back to sleep and did not surface until 10am! Half way through getting dressed the phone rang and it was Effie and I thought Yippee - he is bringing my computer back. Wrong, he spent ages explaining exactly what he had done and what tests he had run and it is not the software so all my stuff is safe [it is still on the hard drive from my previous computer which he had kept as an emergency measure - it is also, of course, on both of my external hard drives]. He reinstalled Windows, ran more and more tests - I did not understand all he said as it was pooter talk, but he put some massive loads on the computer and ran it for 36 hours - everything fine. Took off the heavy loads and everything fine. Then it died again.

Did something else, ran it for 36 hours - everything fine. Put it into idle - and four hours later it died.

So it is a hardware problem and he has to now find out which one - could be the motherboard, could be the hard drive, could be the processor - but everything was brand new so under guarantee so there will be no problem getting it all replaced. Just means I am stuck with his loan computer for a while yet but it is better than no computer at all.

Right - the good [incredibly good] news is that my friend was well enough to phone me [just after I had finished the call with Effie] and the surgery went very well. She said it was nowhere near as major as the first one had been and the prognosis is very good B"H and they think she will recover very well and quite quickly. She sounded absolutely wonderful and I still have a huge smile on my face as I really thought that I would never hear her again.

OK - now to catch up on Dogsey. I also have to catch up on the news - it sounds terrible.

Keep warm and keep safe everyone.
