My sister did a 7 month tour in "asscrapistan" as she called it. She's Army (Artillary) and was out in a FOB. It was a hellish time for us waiting at home. 11 of the 19 Canadian Soldiers killed during that tour were from my sister's FOB. My (now x) brother in Law went over at the same time, but he was safe on base, and not nearly as much of a worry.

My Mom had to go on stress leave during that time.

My nephew has done 2 tours out there.
So pleased to have him home each time.
Thinking of your brother and all the troops in Afghanistan.
