Ouch, ouch, ouch What a traumatic op for dear Paddy and for you!!! One of the golden retrievers in the house almost opposite us had to have a leg amputated when she was 5 and she lived what appeared to be a totally normal life. She still jumped in and out of a boat, still swam in the river and still raced around with her sister chasing her ball. She was put to sleep aged 13 last year. As someone has already said dogs are amazingly resilient .... much more so than us

Early days for Paddy but I'm sure she will be racing around before you know it.

My tummy did do a little somersault but it isn't as bad as I thought it might be. It looks to be healing really well.

Big (((hugs))) to Paddy I expect you could do with one too.

What a brave soldier Paddy is. My minpin made more fuss and bother about losing a nail!

It's just incredible how resiliant our dogs are, isn't it?

Heal well and quickly, lovely Paddy.....

Bless her - lots of healing {{{vibes}}} for beautiful Paddy

I think the wound looks very good for only 7 days following surgery - they really did do a good job.

(((hugs))) to both Paddy and to you. xx

That brings back memories. So pleased she is doing so well

One thing which always made me shudder with Holly, was when she used to wiggle her stump when "scratching" her ear. She would tilt her head as though she was really scratching as well.

Onwards and upwards Paddy - that wound is looking really good and before you know it those annoying stitches will be out.

So glad that she is doing well.
