I am sorry you are going through this. I lost my first Dane Blue, through Liver Cancer. Even now I dont like to think about it.
At least once you have the scan results you will know one way or another.
Will be thinking of you.

Well, Dennis struggled to make it upstairs last night, but I knew if I didn't take him up with me he'd try it on his own when I was asleep. I kept waking up to make sure he was still breathing. This morning he was bright enough to chase the reflection the back door makes on the fence, something he's done since he was a pup, so off I went feeling positive. I tried to take him for a walk before the vets on the local common, but all he would do is walk 5 paces. Struggled to get in and out of the car. Most distressing though was trying to leave him at the vets. He scrabbled to not go with the nurse & his back legs went he then just lay on his side on the floor, for a minute I thought he was going to go there and then. In the end I walked him through to their pre op kennels and put him in the pen. I feel absolutely awful leaving him knowing it is probably the last time I'll see him.

Obviously I'm expecting the worst, but I don't know what to do when the vets call. If they say it's too late he has about a month do I get them to bring him round or let him go? I suppose I'l be guided by them, but in the past I've found they are quite non committal.

How can they go downhill so fast. This was my post on Sunday evening http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=168571

Off to puppy training this a.m, can't say I'm looking forward to it today. Update later

So sad to read this today I feel your pain. Have looked at your last thread and yes this has come on so suddenly it must be a shock. I have always been with my dogs when they have passed away but if I had the call from the vet under the circumstances you describe I would let him go peacefully there and then. I would not want to bring him round to risk him feeling further pain and distress. He will go to the bridge knowing how much you loved and cared for him. I still have got my fingers crossed though that it won't come to this. x
