Phew, been there bought the T shirt.

You have been very lucky, many do not make it.

Just a note, the gastropexy will prevent a TORSION, but it will not prevent a BLOAT.

For those who do not know the difference

Bloat = when dog blows up
Torsion = stomach twists

You have one without the other or both.

So glad she is on the mend. Many of us have been through similar to you with not good outcomes.

Fingers crossed she continues to improve.

What a shocking ordeal for you,well done for getting her to the vets quickly as I am sure I would be in such a panic I wouldn't be capable of driving.I have lived in fear of it ever happening for years! Sending her lots of get well vibes,I hope she has a speedy recovery and that you never have to face this again.

OMG thank goodness you had already been advised by your friend about these dangers, and I think it's everybody's worst nightmare, especially for me, who also has deep chested dogs. So, so pleased you got there straight away, coz I think you have about 20 mins don't you from when it all starts happening. My heart goes out to you, what a terrible, terrible ordeal you've had and poor Phoebe, but sounds like she's going to be fine now.

I know you said you can't slow her down, but try doing what I do with mine, which is to mash up her food, then crumble it so she can't gulp big mouthfulls of it, and I only give it to her bit by bit on a small side plate. Takes ages I know, but well worth it for me, because in the past when she's thrown it back up, I've seen the kibble come out whole just like your vet saw, which tells me she's a gulper, even though she doesn't look like it when she's eating most times, sometimes she did. I don't feed kibble for this very reason now, I've read too much about bloat and pieces of meat are good to have in the stomach with any meal.

All the best with your darling girl, she'll be fine now I'm sure, and let's hope you get her back home very soon.

OMG, thank goodness Phoebe is okay. I cannot imagine how terrifying that was for you to go through.

So pleased you acted quickly and she is going to be okay - isn't it frightening how quickly that can happen.

Big hugs xx
