Yep I am the same, not so much incorrectly spelt words that get to me as opposed to the wrong type of word used ('are' instead of 'our' etc).

The problem with schools is that they now rely heavily on technology (homework has to be done & submitted online) and therefore they don't clamp down on spelling cos most PC's have spell check.

I was soundly lambasted on a long-gone food forum by someone who kept starting threads "Hey Guys..." which I just ignored. When she eventually started a thread "FAO Malka..." asking me why I had not answered a question that was about Kashrut [keeping Kasher/kosher] I replied that I did not read threads starting "Hey guys..."

For that she informed everyone that I was a "stuck-up snob" and various other choice expressions, and that she did not need my help in any case as she knew much more than I did about everything. [She was all of 17 years old and I have grandchildren older than that!]

I am sorry if it offends anyone, but I will not respond to a general thread anywhere starting "Hey Guys" or "Hi Guys", or "Hiya everyone" - or similar such greetings.

Most definitely. Years of reading through and correcting boring scientific reports and essays does that to you.

"Your" and "you're" and "there", they're" and "their"... argh! I also HATE text speak. Never use it!!!!!

I dont mind bad spelling/grammar, I was a union learning rep when I worked full time and attended courses on dyslexia and how it affects people and learning styles etc.

Can't bear it at all........or everything in capitals.......or a capital letter at the beginning of each and every word. I have a friend on a well known social network site that does every single post like that.....so annoying!
