What a terrible dilemma
I don't think anyone can say what they would do until they are actually put in the same situation.
All the very best to you all xx

I am so sorry for Sindy, things dont always go the way we would like

Whatever decision you made, it is the right one for you. If she's not in any pain or discomfort, then who's to say you made the wrong one.

I really hope Sindy has a little more time to know how much you love her and to know a real home.
xxx

What an awful thing to happen and I hope that Sindy has some considerable time to enjoy your love and care.

I would also have done the same thing as you. Your first thought was for Cindy, i.e. she is not in pain and is still enjoying life, so why not give her a few more weeks/months. I do hope you don't have to make that awful decision for a while. Lots of hugs to Cindy. xx

I'm not sure what I'd have done in all honesty. Probably the same as you if the dog wasn't in pain and had quality of life. She gets a little while longer to enjoy life and you get time to prepare to let her go.

I'm so sorry things haven't worked out though

I`m so sorry. I think that, since she isn`t in pain now, you did what I would have done. I like to give a dog every chance as long as they aren`t in pain. And tbh the family need a little time to say their goodbyes.
You may only have a short while, but that is a precious time for you and her. Treasure it.

Thankyou all, its a comfort to know I wasnt being entirely selfish. Sindy is lying next to me now, fast asleep, she is not eating yet but thats understandable as she has a big wound in hr belly, but she manages to wag her tail bless her. All the dogs are being very gentle with her, Jess the JRT is cuddling up to her and looking very worried. i do hope she has a good while left, but I wont ever let her be in pain, when the time is right, we will know.

Aw I'm so sorry to hear this. I don't think you are being selfish.
Hugs.
