The bowl thing I linked folds up to fit into your pocket so it's pretty handy - obviously you need to carry a water bottle around but it's handy for dogs that don't drink straight from a bottle (Kiki's a bit weird with sports bottles)

I tend to walk in places with streams & rivers on hot days so my dogs tend to sort themselves out . But if I'm going somewhere dry, I usually have spare poo bags & use these whenever I come across a trough in a field! All our dogs very quickly learned to drink from a folded down poo bag. The bonus is not having to lug heavy bottles of water around! I always have a gallon container of water in the car so they can have a drink after the walk.

I bought a fabric one but rarely use it. I tend to just pop into a loo and fill up a plastic poo bag from the tap. Then hold it while they drink.

I've had a Wagtail Portable Dog Bowl for years. It's plastic and is in two halves that clip together to make a carry handle. It is really handy, it has a small water bottle that fits inside and a section that has a liquid cool bag that you can pop into the freezer the day before then pop into it to keep the water nice and cold. The other half can be used for food.

The only down side to it is the water bottle is small so doesn't hold a huge amount, but I counter that by filling a large plastic lemonade bottle and pop it in the freezer the previous night. Then take it out next day so the water is all nice and icy-cool when they need it

It was very cheap to buy (less than a tenner) and we've found it invaluable over the years.

We had this for agility shows, you can also keep some food in there too. It's very good and handy, but probably a bit bulky for everyday walks.
