thanks everyone! i will try some of those. I didn't say it was a bad smell, but unfortunately I work at my bosses house and she likes clean and fresh!

I did take him to the vet for his anal glands, hes on anti biotics and cream now Its just normal doggy smell though

I know about the Tomato Sauce trick, but its rather messy, and not that easy to get out of a long coat properly(IMO), especially as my boy doesnt do baths showers or hoses for rinsing ! (despite being a water baby in the big outdoors!)

if theres no underlying problem you can get lovely finishing sprays from doreen paige,we use a lavender and rosemary one which makes them smell really nice,albeit like walking air freshners!
