If you think the problem might be rilvary between the two dogs - then this might be a useful link to read.

If the bitch is coming into season it might be affecting which dog is the dominant one.

Rank reduction and the dominance theory has been disproved and is not a good way to manage multiple-dog households. If you want a decent bit of advice, go to an APDT trainer or their website. There are also a lot of good books on positive training that don`t include `dominance`.
