I'm so sorry to hear it. In a dog so young, I would wonder about why this is happening and what caused it. Do you guys get Leptospiridium in the UK? It causes acute renal failure in dogs (and people) but I don't know if you have it over there. I hope you can find a good treatment protocol. Dogs with chronic renal failure can usually manage a good many years with treatment included diet and fluid therapy. Acute renal failure is another story however, but usually if they can catch it early enough, they can recover. Good luck to you and your boy.

thanks for all your messages. From what i understand there is not much the vets can do as the damage is too advanced. As he was so ill last year the strong drugs and/or stress he was under may have cause the problem but the truth is there is no real way of knowing the cause.
The prognosis the vet gave was up to 2 months, but lots more was said but i was in shock and didnt take it all in. I'll update when i know more.
