Hope all goes well for you tomorrow Jenny. It's natural to be nervous. I was 13 when I had my appendix out, I had to have a GA and I was so frightened about not waking up. I agree with Claire, if you would prefer a nerve block, and it can be done that way, talk to someone tomorrow.

Look forward to seeing you back on Dogsey very soon.xx

Just when I thought I had made up my mind ... lol
Thanks for the good wishes.

Thanks Jane, I don't suppose I will be away long - you know me
I will have a long chat with the anaethetist tomorrow.

Zoe I suspect it will take more than an arthroscopy to keep me down!
The surgeon acts as if he is frightened to death of me cos he knows my career history
The nerves will go once I get there tomorrow. Thanks for the good wishes xx

Don't panic, dear heart.

I had one of these a few years ago, and to be honest, it was a piece of cake.

I think we all have fears about the anasthetic, but if you are going in as a "day case", then it's not the full blown knock out, but just a gentle "send you to sleep".

You won't feel or remember a thing, and you'll wake up bright as a button and wondering what the hell all the fuss and worry was about.....

Chill .....

Thanks Vicki, that made me laugh and I am now looking forward to my "gentle send to sleep"
I will come back tomorrow and tell you what a breeze it was.

Aww Jen.

I'm sure you'll be fine. I've had a full GA a few times and to be honest I've loved it! They said count to 10 backwards - I've never made it once before falling into a blissful sleep, then waking up when it was all over with.

As for knee ops, well Hoki says not only will you be fine, but you'll be sooo glad you did it once you've recovered.

xxx
