I spent £1000 in one day at my own vets with Kota, then £2000 at the specialist for a scan a week or so later, then £250 another few weeks after at the specialist....paid back the lot minus excess and direct claim fee. Also pay for alternative treatments which after all the money at the specialist....fixed her!!

My daughter insures with petplan. She insured her dog at 8 weeks old when she got him. 18 months ago he had a lump on his ear (histiocycoma <sp>). Had it removed and histology workup and they paid up. Three weeks ago, a lump appeared on his back. Same problem, same vet advised removal and histology. Petplan have refused to pay up because the second problem appeared after 12 months - go figure.

She's now cancelled the policy and is putting money into a separate savings account for any further treatment.

Thanks for feed back. I will pass the info on. Covered for life sounds good. Will advise her to look for that but in the end I bet she does her own thing which is what she is doing after I advise on training stuff. To be honest I will be pleased when she calls it a day and doesn't want me, I may even do that myself in the end. I can only advise at the end of the day and if it doesn't work it isn't my fault. Phew got that after my chest. lol!!
