Completely agree about Mother's Day but sadly that sort of sh*t still goes on a lot
I'm just making the point that there are a lot of erm, shall we say, financially challenged people out there, including myself, where price IS a consideration, as well as the other factors - just a fact of life

Thats just silly - we have four dogs and are getting a fifth - do I have 125,000 in the bank to cover all eventualities? no! I'd better just toddle off and get rid of them then seeing as how i'm an unfit owner! And I certainly wouldn't expect to pay £2000 for a puppy, nomatter what its breeding. For some people money has to come first - that doesn't make them irresponsible owners.

Let's put it this way - I (when I breed or rehome) charge roughly £10 - £20 per rat. They never go in less than pairs - so up to £40 a pair. You can buy from a petshop for a fiver if you like - but the animal will be less friendly, more prone to health troubles etc etc. You pay for what you get in the end - if you pay a decent amount of money - and money is NOT your main consideration - then you get a friendly, healthy, well socialised and bred animal that is a pleasure to own.
Added to which - I never said anyone was an unfit owner if they don't follow the same ethics as me! jumpingthe gun a bit aren't we?
I back Crazy Cockers 100% anyway - and now i shall bow out of this arguement. Just wanted to say that I agree with her.

I paid a tenner for spring, she's won three frist places, one second, one fifth and one eight at crufts. She's been placed and won classes in agility, flyball and obedience. She has a spot on temprement with dogs and people loves kids and is (in my eyes) the best dog in the world! Did I get what I paid for? YES and a whole lot more! Price and money isn't everything. I could never have afforded to pay for a dog at that time and did I get a poor specimin becasue of it? NO - it is you who is casting aspersions (sp).
Also I find your ethics quite confusing - from posts you've made in the past you are as short of money as the next person, and the dog you have didn't come in a perfect mould. No dogs do, the work and effort a person is willing to put in is way more important than the money they are willing to pay. I know people who would never pay for a dog at all! and they are the most fantastic owners!

I sometimes think that this whole cost business is about snobbery sometimes in the dog breeding circles - not directed at you crazycockers!

I was merely saying if you get a dog from a breeder who doesn't mind that your priority is price, chances are that your animal is not from health tested parents etc etc. Personally, I would never dream of buying from a breeder whose top priority is money.
And yes - I am as skint as everyone else - but i make damn sure I have the money for Duds if needed. and IF I'd gotten him from a breeder/rescue - i would have spent any amount of money on him - because he is worth more than any money could ever buy.
