My bc's are really stocky. When i'm well, they are exercised loads.
I don't over feed them either.

Fudge gets on well with Burns. As a point of interest what weight guidelines would you give for a one year old smallish Collie? Fudge is a Collie cross but just after a guideline.

I was just suggesting that maybe free feeding may help keep their weight in check?

NO would never free feed. Their food is split between 2 feeds. One in the morning and one at night.
It takes them 2 seconds to eat their food. If i free fed them they would get through a 15kg bag in about 2 hours

Do you mean how much should they weigh. Or if you mean food wise i would follow what it says on the bag, but give abit less as manufacturers always put a bit more on, so that you buy more of their food

I don't have to rely on my neb anymore (touch wood).
I shall slowly increase their exercise along with mine.
I was welling up watching them run! They give me so much pleasure.

Hi Jules

I have just been reading this old post and wondered how you got on with Burns?

Hoki our rescue is still a bit overweight - we managed to get her to loose about 7kg over a sensible period, but the last bit is proving difficult to shift. Her build isn't as slight as our other bc but I'm not expecting her to end up like him, its just that at the moment her figure is more that of a small lab than a bc!

I've just ordered burns high oats so am hoping that this will help shift the final flab
