No but of the same ilk when I failed the 11 plus she went into decline
I remember the potters wheel and going to someone's house after school to watch the Lone Ranger because there was only a couple of people who had TV's and they were massive big things with tiny screens that you waited to warm up, and when you switched them off you watched the dot disappear, oh and there was a break for tea!!!And the National Anthem was played at close at 10.30pm

It's alright Tang......you are just having a little senior moment. Nothing to worry about.

She was my mother not my stepmother
she was so small minded it was ridiculous, perpetually worried about what the neighbours would say, well I gave them plenty to talk about I can tell you

Tang, my mother was not nice, not nice at all.......especially to me!!! I have to admit to having those long senior episodes too

Oh, and do you remember the Friday night film? Or was it Saturday Anyway, it was on late and we used to watch it thinking that it was bound to get better, or would become clear at the end. It never did! They were always rubbish, and if you fell asleep watching it, you would be woken by that horrible high pitched noise and the tiny white dot in the middle of the screen.

I remember ARMCHAIR THEATRE and it seemed SCARY to me!

I was about 5 when we got a telly and I remember thinking if you went round the back you would be able to get the little 'footballers' out of the set!

Dr Who scared the life out of me.

I cannot complain that my mother ruined my growing years because she was always 'leaving home' and left for good when I was about 13. But I can complain that the nuns at the RC Convent Schools I went to had a bluddy good stab at removing anything remotely resembling FUN from life!
