Ahh but thats the danger with the internet, its just words on a screen, no body language, so it can be taken anyway that the person reading it wants to, thats why people should think before they post
Its a pity the people who are making a big deal out of it don't think the same. Pot, kettle, black and all that. Sense of humour bypass springs to mind

Like they say, if the cap fits wear it.

In terms of ''turning it into a joke'' that's exactly what I was trying to do in my posts to Jackbox (she mentions half mutton so I made a joke about just being shoulder then - geddit?) but it seems it's only one sided.

Mutton is a sterotype. Like I said before, we are all stereo types, myself included. If I went around taking offence to every joke made about my stereotype I'd have a life time of ''this'' kind of thing.

And Lizzy, it wasn't aimed specifically at you. FWIW.

You lot really are acting very overly sensitive.

Until you turned it into a negative , commenting on bitchiness.. the tone had turned to a light hearted banter...by some in response to others derogatory posts.

I hadn't noticed comments on this thread until Esmeds post, but went back through for a peek.

I have to say, I agree with Lionhound & Jackbox that we would be very boring indeed if we were all the same. Some of the posts on this thread were tactless to say the least

Neither Sid or myself are ostentatious/pretentious or flashy we just fancied having one for our own reasons. I think it looks great. To me it's no more flashy than the car you buy, house you own, clothes you wear. Anyway, whose business is it if you want to buy a personalized plate or not? It's up to the individual - people worked damned hard for their money!

I think it's a shame that a seemingly innocent & fun post has turned into people having jibes/back-biting. For heavens sake lets just accept we are all different and realize we are all members of the SAME forum having a bit of fun
Exactly , all in a bit of fun... so who's opening the next bottle then

No one called anyone names on this thread and yet off you went, as usual.

I think Pidge, you realise you dont have to name names to offend... the insinuation of a certain type being the owners of PP`s was obvious to all.

You where the one stereotyping others.. not the other way round, it was your comments that got people rilled.

Take it on board and deal with the consequences

Can I just say here, I think this thread has gone slightly nuts!!!!

I never took offence to anything anyone said, as I thought it was all said in good humour. I was joining in the fun (well I thought it was fun )

If driving a 4 x 4 and wearing bling is "mutton" then that's me I fully intend to grow old absolutely disgracefully and proud of it!

I don't think Pidge or Greyhound meant any harm or offence. Bitching ain't their style, I'm pretty sure of that I think we were all just having a joke but somewhere along the line, it got a bit serious, which is a shame

Anyway, I'm off to get my beauty sleep
