Letter from Martin Deeley
Owner of the International School for Dog Trainers
Executive Director, Co-Founder, and Past President of
International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP)
“Owners are learning to respect their dogs for what they are – dogs. Owners are learning that by understanding what a dog is and does can help them create a long and lasting loving relationship with their dogs without resorting to bribery and child like rewards. Being leader of the pack does not imply strong punishment and corrections but an assertive confident approach where the dog recognizes your leadership.”

“The passion of Cesar Millan is infectious. His love of dogs not only shines through but becomes part of his persona in generating the needs in others to bring the best out in their dogs. His explanations are overflowing with human and canine behavior understanding and he realizes that without having the owners follow through and change, the dog cannot change either. It is a team/pack approach among humans and dogs that brings out the results he achieves.”

''create a long and lasting loving relationship with their dogs without resorting to bribery and child like rewards.''

SHOCKED
So using a tug toy or bit of livercake as a reward is BRIBERY.

That makes me a bit dumbfounded.

I don't like CM at all, but I do like Marmite. I however think Russell Brand is rather sexy in a completely wrong and skanky way.

Thank gawd someone does. My dogs don't think that they are being bribed, they don't feel used or blackmailed. I think they think I am a bit crazy, but they love WORKING for food.
I don't feel bribed when I go to someones house, spend time with them and their dog (esp when I get to play with puppies) take money and go home. It's called WORKING, you get a reward for spending your energy and time....
