Sally and Helena - Foots not brilliant but I've been using some sticky strapping that I swiped out of my son's physio bag and have for the past week been straping the sole of my foot which does help. I've also been living in trainers which aren't very sexy really but a necessity for walking the dogs. Thanks for asking though I've been watching a programme on More4 which finished shortly about a house that has been built a few miles up river from us. There are so many 'new builds' going on around here.

Sally - I wouldn't dream of embarrassing you at a race.

I'm off to visit my Mum in the morning. OH is going to drop me (+ dogs) off at 11 and then collect me at 12.15 which suits me fine as he'll be driving.

I'm going to log off now and go and cook my son a meal who's just got in. See you all tomorrow and sleep well all.

Jenny, where would we be without trainers I just love them for walking in, and other than wellies when it is really wet, they are the only things that I am comfortable in. As you say, not very sexy though. I hope that you find your mum in good spirits tomorrow, and what a treat that you will be driven. Nighty night and sleep tight xxx

Harvey, the bedroom furniture is just flat pack thats all, I quite liked the design of it, and it is nice in the spare bedroom, it will just be veneer so no point me going into what it is made of, it is just that I really don't have the money to replace it with whats happened to me over the last year so if I can somehow get it looking OK again that will be good enough for me.
I'm more than likely going to have to replace the carpet and the bed, so anything I can salavage from this debacle is good.
The light fitting will also have to be replaced, had a look in B&Q today when I was in there. Just heartbreaking really that I have to start again.

TW might sound crazy but, for furniture that is in a bit of a state I use METAL PAINT on it to tart it up. It's what I used to get everything 'black' in here. And it comes in small sized tins too so not too pricey.

Used it on pine, melanine, chipboard stuff and even sometimes use it on METAL!

I'm going to go in Halfords on Saturday when my state pension comes in (paid weekly) and get this brake cleaner stuff and see how that goes first.
