Shibby please do wot you feel is right.

I think your doing a great job, taking on a pregnant bitch for someone is not the easiest of jobs and I really do think your doing a sterling job.

Yep you could do that too, the vet can do the 2 ops in one. Once all the pups are born he can spey her. It will probably mean extra work for you with the pups but at least it will be less stressful for the bitch not having to undergo 2 lots of anasthetic.

like inca has asked who said she will need a c section if theres only a few pups and they are gsd x like the parents she should be ok.
get her spayed after the birth, if she does end up with a section it can be done at the same time like staffy has said to save her going through 2 op's.
don't panic we will help you with the birth/ litter your not alone in this.

Shibby - if this is a certain nasty creature or two from Fancy Rats - ignore them - they know nothing and are so gung ho rescue they will do more harm than good. they are obsessed with spaying or neutering and would abort every animal they possibly can given half the chance.
trust yourself - if you want these pups - and don't want to abort them - then don't. They will probably have no problems and you will be fine - if I were you i would seriously ignore the thread on Fancy rats - there are a few people there who know little about dogs - and are scaremongerers.

please - don't panic about this hun - we can all help you here -and hell - you may even enjoy the experience (but don't tell certain people on FR that for god's sake! )

xx
