That is fantastic, and oh so true, how many people get dogs as accesories, status symbols etc, and as "max" says it should be because we want to love and be loved by another soul.

Tears here too having lost a dog so young.I always make time to cuddle Ollie as much as I can through the day every day.

I have just put Fudge to bed after a long cuddle on the settee and a walk in the rain. It is so true.. When we are troubled but can`t speak, who is there with a nudge of the nose and deep deep eyes. Thjey search our souls and yet bring peace..the world fades and pure devotion takes over. What a wonderful post.

What wonderful sentiments. Couldn't help the tears, especially as I have two oldies myself.

There must be hundreds of elderly dogs out there needing homes but are passed over for younger dogs and puppies. Oldies have such a lot of love to give too, albeit for a shorter time. I love old dogs, they are so wise.

Awww thats really lovely, thanks for posting that I was just going to give Benji a cuddle but he came down from bed went out in the garden and before I could cuddle him he's gone back to bed
